My dad let me watch Terminator when I was far too young and you can’t really convince a kid that robots won’t come back in time to kill you. I specifically remember him trying to say “They wouldn’t come back for you would they?” 😂

That scene with Screweyes and the crows always scared me as a kid. I vaguely recall there's a deleted scene where he explains why he's actually terrified of crows - which makes what happens to him at the end make even more sense....kind of?

That’s fair! I usually wonder if I need effects for a couple of dice rolling or a large pool of dice….or if that is noticed or something that ears just gloss over 😅

I usually edit in a sound effect just because our mics don’t always pick up the rolls (or some people might use an auto dice roller/app!) but I just wanted to check people didn’t find it bothersome. Personally I like a sound to signify when the roll has taken place!

That’s very fair! I was trying to get a feel if it enhances the experience or if it detracts from the narrative! (This is also because I was wondering if I want to get more “dice rolling” sound effects because a current project is more big dice pools than say a couple of dice!)

Heya! Our episodes tend to be around 40-60 minutes and bar 3 episodes on Daggerheart we have a variety of different games covered with music and effects 😁 Our most recent episode is a Tacklebox Oneshot where we basically didn't break character for the entire thing! (Made for a much easier edit!)

It’s all about giving them reasons not to in the boss fight, be it minions that get in the way, or a secondary objective or thing to solve! I find the more plates the PC’s have to spin at the same time the higher the stakes feel!

Had a Heart session just now where the players had to battle "A Door Wizard" who could essentially summon a door to redirect any attack you threw at him back at you.... It was very amusing watching a PC blow themselves up with their own grenade to start the fight 😂

I agree it can be exhausting when a player has closed secrets between them and the GM and you kind of have to ask “why are you in our party?” Definitely something you need people to be aware of or to develop as you play!
