Out of curiosity, which one of these JRPGs would you play for a stream?
Picture is of a discord poll asking which JRPG I should play for a stream this Monday: Resonance of Fate, Persona 3 Reload, Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, Unicorn Overlord, Phantasy Star Universe, Shining Tears and Soul Hacker 2

Fun fact: the original Greatest Nine game, was led by graphic designer Takaya Segawa. He was new to the company and had only just completed his first game, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, in his second year there.

Each member has their own strengths and weaknesses as pertains to playing. As an added bonus, while playing you can perform attacks against your opponent similar to the special attacks in the Sakura Wars series.

3rd: Hanagumi Taisen Columns Released on March 28th, 1997. Developed by Sega CS2 and Red Company, this spin off of Sakura Wars and Columns. The game plays like you expect Columns to, except you're playing as members of the Imperial Combat Revue's Flower Division.

While Japanese fans know it as Gale Racer, US fans know it as Rad Mobile and the first appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog as a rearview mirror ornament, before his June 23, 1991 launch on the Genesis. That aside, I feel the Saturn version is sadly an inferior version of its arcade counterpart.

Next up: Gale Racer. Originally released in the Arcades on October 3rd, 1990 and world wide in February of 1991, and was developed by Sega AM3. This was Sega's first 32-bit game, using Sega's System 32 arcade system board. It arrived on the Saturn on December 2nd, 1994.

So I am wondering, if SEGA released their Mega-CD variant for the TeraDrive like they planned, what would it of looked like? Cause I don't think you could of had it sit on top of the drive with the monitor there.

Bonus 3: Sonic Adventure 2 Birthday Pack. Released in Japan, only from June 23rd - 24th in 2001. It sold for the same price as just the game (¥5,800). UK also had a limited release of this through the Sega UK online shop back then, but it had no outer sleeve/box.

Bonus 2: Giant Gram 2000: All Japan Pro Wrestling 3, released for the SEGA Dreamcast on Aug. 10th, 2000. This would be the 3rd and final game in the AJPW series, and it almost was ALMOST delayed due to the Exodus of talent to form Pro Wrestling NOAH. Devs scrambled to get the NOAH logo on the case.

Sega Rally Championship 1995 was released for the SEGA Saturn on December 29, 1995. When it released in North America and Europe the 1995 was dropped cause it was 1996 when it would release for those regions. Still one of the best racing games to grace a console.

DecAthlete, or Athlete Kings to my European friends, was released for the Sega Saturn on July 12th 1996. This track and field sports game from SEGA AM3 is still quite fun to play, even for a so-called modern clone of Daley Thompson's Decathlon.

Riglord Saga, released on July 21, 1995 for the Saturn in Japan. When released in North America, it was changed to Mystaria: The Realms of Lore and released on December 27, 1995. It was changed again to Blazing Heroes and re-released in May 1996. Which version do you have?

Virtual-On: Cyber Toopers, released in January 1996 (or was it December 1995?) for the SEGA Saturn. SEGA AM3 developed this originally for the arcades, but another team of developers from AM3 ported it to the console. One of the best Saturn titles and even better with the twin stick controller!

Here is Sakura Taisen Teigeki Graph, released on December 23rd, 1998 for the Sega Saturn. This was the last first party game to be released for the SEGA Saturn as the Dreamcast became the main focus for SEGA... And we know how that story ends... Don't we? 😞

First up is Sakura Taisen aka Sakura Wars released for the Sega Saturn on Sept. 27th, 1996. Blending visual novel, dating sim, and tactical RPG elements, RED Entertainment and SEGA created a long standing IP that's still going today. It was planned to be released in the US... But it was cancelled.
