you do? your short bio doesn't clearly say cat/feline artist predominately... (easy upgrade opportunity: you might be missing potential leads if key words are not found there) and how much was the highest you've ever charged? 🤔

#WIP! Guess which OC? 😼 took around 30-40min progress from doing some sketch guidelines from scratch, over thinking lineart and color palette and added those leavez... hope I'm justified 😸 #artfight2026 #cat #af2026 #teammystery

if that's what's been the most successful, have you ever thought about specializing in just cat art (so that you can price at a premium)?

011

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

word...I didn't manage to finish refs and everything before July 1...only found out about artfight so late...but slowly sharing OCs~ I guess for now there's only few options to atk haha....good and bad!

010

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

I tend to have connection wifi probs where I'm based so darnz this is a golden rule of thumb to just save the refs for offline use and yeah....my first af....and those lag loading pages haha

010

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

lots of wildlife variety!! I especially like the 2 page split of the fox (often thought it was a mistake on some book prints, but perhaps it's a deliberate style or split intention?) but how come you don't main on one type of wildlife? like felines only or?

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

ohh I was wondering if you were on this year's artfight! hehe would love to draw your main OC for sure~~

000

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

ok OOPs ever since I drew the old style version, I realized I didn't make his "2-fin" side markings properly for the latest ref sheet! here it is updated 🙀 artfight.net/character/99... hope no one saved it offline and working on an atk with the old ref....

dratz....I realized I forgot to properly show the 2 "fin-like" slashes of Sharkleap's back capey thing... the rather fixed anatomy ref sheet only has one "fin" 😿

😻 Followers help people discover your art. 💙 An email list helps them come back for more. Are YOU building your email list? 🙀 If you'd like a perspective on where prospects drop off between discovery and buying, feel free to DM me.

‼️5/ You wait until you're "big enough." Every new follower, commission, convention, download... ...is a chance to build a lasting relationship instead of hoping they'll find you again. A small list of true fans beats thousands of passive followers.

100

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

‼️4/ You assume your most engaged fans will always see your posts. They won't. Even people who love your art may never see your next piece because the algorithm decides what shows up in their feed. Email removes that uncertainty.

100

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

‼️3/ You treat social media as an "asset." It isn't. • Algorithms change • Reach fluctuates • Accounts get restricted • Platforms come and go Your email list is the asset. Everything else is borrowed land.

100

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

‼️2/ You optimize for likes instead of lifelong fans. A viral post feels exciting. But likes don't guarantee commissions, print sales, or collectors. An email subscriber chose to hear from you again. That's stronger than a heart or share. Followers discover you. Subscribers remember you.
