I think I never shared a drawing sheet of some old/before style cat doodles that I would lazily and limitedly draw (from lack of knowing cat anatomy and proportions) here it is just in case maybe I never posted?

ok OOPs ever since I drew the old style version, I realized I didn't make his "2-fin" side markings properly for the latest ref sheet! here it is updated 🙀 artfight.net/character/99... hope no one saved it offline and working on an atk with the old ref....

dratz....I realized I forgot to properly show the 2 "fin-like" slashes of Sharkleap's back capey thing... the rather fixed anatomy ref sheet only has one "fin" 😿

cross-posting to all platforms is a real a** pain for me...I rarely look forward to it... but I know it's part of the process of my first set of momentum posts! so I must do it though I want to think of many reasons not to, I will still have to if I'm to post the next and nexts!

It breaks my heart seeing talented artists constantly begging the algorithm for attention. They shouldn't have to. Every week I find incredible cat artists making work that deserves to be seen and paid for. Yet many are stuck in the same cycle:

It took me 15+ years to learn this: Being an artist isn't about waiting til you're "good enough" Even hrs of private practice gets you nowhere if fear keeps your work hidden. It's magical sharing 1 imperfect doodle anyway. That's how confidence is unlocked. Beclaws so few have courage to do it!

000

Zae | Team 🔍Mystery @syanzae (Artfight!) @syanzae.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

JUST Found out about this properly… used to see it back in tumblr dayz but never looked into it darn it once a year? STAKES ARE HIGH.. i got nothing but my current unpolished art style and niche focus on cats tho uh.. yet my life mantra is “there’s NO perfect time” DARN IT SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME

My goal as a cat artist is to become embarrassingly patient. So comfortable being a beginner, so detached from perfection, and so committed to the process that no shortcut could ever compete with daily study and practice.

who knows? would i be one of the first to be what's called a Writer Artist? both writing well AND a digital artist? (name subject to change of course 😅) I don't see much digital artists describe much on the art process, lessons or what they've created. Might help a lot with building loyal buyers!
