SRC changed their terms of use yesterday, and released a news post with an FAQ. They make it sound like not a big deal. It's a big deal. The Creative Commons licence is gone. They claim ownership over the data now. Thread about what this means, and what we can do about it 🧵

Comparison of the old src terms and the new src terms

I can't believe you would just stand there doing nothing while the beef sets the kitchen on fire.

Is SRC seriously using AI for their posts?? Sorry, but why should I care what you say about our hobby if you can't even bother to say it yourself? Now I have to wonder if our communities' histories are being maintained by a hallucinating machine. Please stop, we are so over this mind numbing slop

Hey everyone, I need some help. If possible, please share this. Running therun dot gee gee has been an amazing passion project for 4 years. It’s always been 100% free, ad-free, and I never sell your data. I love building new features for this community and I have so many more ideas to grow the site

When I first started as a streamer I set a private growth goal: Once I hit 1,000 followers I would start looking into getting merch made. Now, over 1,300 and I'm almost ready for my first merch drop! Still trying to figure out how to do pre-orders; but say hello to the Boofer plushy! 🖤 #arcademerch

As much as I like to have all of my PBs uploaded to YouTube for preservation, there is a 100GB 602 video that has been sitting on my hard drive since 2023. Every attempt to edit it has either crashed midway through, stuck in an infinite load, or flat out refused. o7 to the 32:37:24. I need the space

PSA: If you get a Discord message from someone named Chuckster, DO NOT REPLY! They will claim to help you get the Shine Sprite, but in reality they will just throw you into the abyss.

The current plan is to get the sandbox goal, then sub hour 70 star, then g1 any% for bronze any% on the multimario pb sheet, and wrap it up with a donut county goal sweep for bingo.

I set some goals that were a bit too ambitious and some goals that were way too easy. That being said I'm happy with my 2025 speedrunning career and I'm excited to see what 2026 brings. New board drops sometime after midnight.

I don't normally rant on bsky but I needed to get that out of my system.

Just had to pay $10 in fees for a second doordash order cause target doesn't have hamburger buns that don't contain milk and I needed something that the other store didn't have. Not having a car sucks but I'm more pissed that they keep putting milk in hamburger buns I used to be able to have.

How hard is it to be a nice, respectful person to others and treat them like a human with compassion and empathy? I love all of my friends and will treat them with the utmost care and respect for their boundaries. This should NOT change whether you gain a following or not.

Cool, my playlist is now getting hit with "smart shuffle" with no way to turn it off so ig its time to find a new app. Why is it so hard to listen to a playlist without being given "similar music". I made the playlist for a reason.

Well this was a good stream lol. Another 2 goals down. Up next will probably be either 0 Star or 70 Star depending on which one I get first. I will be working on SM64 until the league ends on the 15th, then I'll go back to Galaxy until that league ends.

Fixed my cap card so I'm gonna be live as soon as I'm done making splits internet providing

switch_runner @switchrunner.bsky.social · 01/09/2025

Original plan was to do a g1 242 tomorrow and now it's really on the fence, obs isn't seeing my cap card for some reason and my internet is almost non-existent, tonight's stream is 100% canceled and if I can't go live by 10AM EDT tomorrow I'm gonna have to reschedule my 242.

So the original plan of alternating ACE and 70 until I got sub hour in either of them is now really screwed up. New plan: still play 70 star for sub 70, then I'll work on either sandbox any% or some old follower goals (SMB3, BFBB, Bowser's Fury).

010

switch_runner @switchrunner.bsky.social · 03/07/2025

New discovery. I gave the n64 I used to use to a family member when I went to college and got a new one so she could keep it, problem is I no longer have the expansion pack needed to run usamune.

100

switch_runner @switchrunner.bsky.social · 02/07/2025

I'm going to put SMS ACE on hold for the foreseeable future, I would like to wait until I have an ESS Adapter before I work on box game because my best controller can only hit the angle D928 consistently (I need to hit DA28). I'm still working on getting sub 70 70 Star

110

switch_runner @switchrunner.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

Yeah I've got your notes saved, I'll let you know if I'm having problems with anything.

000

switch_runner @switchrunner.bsky.social · 30/06/2025

Another big one down. Cut it closer than I'd like but still got it. Up next is SMS ACE but since its so difficult and I don't want to go insane trying to finish a run I've decided to alternate it with 70 star until I get sub hour in either category.

I got a 3:19:30 96 Shines run I forgot to post here but after 2 days of grinding 120 I dropped my pb by 41 minutes and now I'm within 6 and a half minutes of my goal. This is insane. I'm continuing with daily no resets until I get it but sub 4 may come sooner than expected. 👀

4:28:18 (+7:07 out of box game 2), -19:37 off old pb

4:06:19, -21:58 off day 1 pb, sob 3:51:32
