Lots of talk of growth ahead of the Budget, as if it were a baroque puzzle. Our problem is basic. It's that we no longer support the things which facilitate growth: Europe, immigration, higher education, tax simplification, policy stability. These are all choices and could stop making them anytime.

Absolutely horrifying. How can our government be planning to drill for new oil and gas when we know these are the consequences? We have to keep the pressure on this Labour Government to keep all fossil fuels in the ground and secure a safe future for our children and grandchildren.

Thank you to the Independent for including me in Climate List of Worlds Top 100. The UK Labour Govt are due to approve new oil & gas licences in the north sea. They've delayed the decision post October 8th. We can invest in renewables instead. Vote Green in Holborn & St Pancras
Since becoming leader of the Green Party in 2025, Zack Polanski has made the links between climate change, inequality and the cost of living central to his politics, arguing that environmental action must also make people’s lives better.

This summer, as the UK faced its hottest summer ever and wildfires swept across the UK and the rest of the globe, he called for oil and gas companies to pay higher taxes to fund climate adaptation. That is alongside investment in cooling homes and public spaces and bringing water companies into public ownership.

I don't remember government ministers speaking this way about Just Stop Oil and Palestine Action. Why do they insist on pandering to racist thugs?
Minister says some agitators were 'intimidating and thuggish'
Some protestors showed “intimidating and thuggish behaviour” this weekend, Sarah Jones, the policing minister said.

But she added she did not seek to “minimise” legitimate concerns people had about small boat crossings.

“This government has taken action to fix the broken system we inherited and crack down on the people smugglers,” Jones said, pointing out that system-wide arrests were up 70%.

This by-election is a chance to reject Rip-off Britain.
A quote graphic from Zack Polanski that reads: The Holborn and St Pancras by-election will be a referendum on ending rip-off Britain. Only the Greens have a real plan for real hope and change. Keir Starmer's legacy is not a legacy to be proud of, it is a legacy of shame - one that only the Greens can draw a line under and offer a real alternative.
