In a complicated relationship with Spurs. Expect boardgames, music, disc golf, grassroot football

Gollini in goal for Roma, now there's a player I'd almost forgotten.

Do like the grit and determination, and I would be worried if I was a Utd fav, as they were rubbish, at home, against a team bottom of the league. Spurs: another step in the right direction. COYS!

Anyone's got a ticket available for Spurs vs Palace? Looking for three but could be ok with two. Dorsn't have to be next to eachother

Yeah. Jabba has a brain

Agree. Kudus right, Savio left, Marmoush up top. Bentancur has been fine but I'd go Tonali/Fernandes as a double pivot then the number 10 issue I've been pondering if we should play Benta as a lone anchor with Tonali/Fernandes freedom to reign forward. Ie more of a 4-1-2-3

How bad are the Spurs so this season? 20th in the table is, understatement, not great. But, are they relegation candidates? Probably not. For xG/xGA/xPTS, rank is ~15th. If Brentford game was an outlier (I think/hope it was), then considerably better for xGA (5th best) and xPTS (12th). xG ~16th

Weird thing is that it was 0-0 at half time (!)

Last year; the first five games were pretty dire but gave us some 9-10 points... Keep going and results will come whilst also playing attacking football.

Having a hard time understanding people who think that sacking RDZ now would be a great idea?! Replacing him with Poch is nostalgic at best. If we ensure 7 (?) months of turgid TF- ball, then surely RDZ must be given time? The only way is up!

Women's team leading the way. 5-0 right now

We are playing catching up.Yes, we've bought 10 players and I think the bulk of them are getting where we want them to be. But the old guard, what's left, has been plagued by injuries, different managers, poor form, crashed confidence, the loss of team mates they've liked and so on. Long road back.

I echo this. I would have gone into panic mood if we'd played like we did versus Brentford in every game. From what I understand there's also a fundamental belief in RDZ methods from the players, whilst I recall that the first mumbles re TF surfaced around October.

Thanks for your kind reply. Appreciated. Just pinned down what I felt.

Ok. I usually appreciate what you write and your pod, but I feel that the frustration of the current duration has made its way into your articles. Could also be that I'm sick and tired of all the moaning, so that I'm too critical :-). My bad and thanks for your reply.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 20/09/2026
It's clear that you don't like RDZ by your articles, but right now you're painting a compact black picture. It's of course the easy way to go about things; it's easier to pick up all the negative things, instead of focusing on the positives. That's also what the moaning supporters thrive on.

Agree

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
I liked Poch as well and thought he did well but he hasn't won anything of worth. Calling someone an elite manager or not is irrelevant. De Zerbi seems to have a plan and a way he wants to play. I think he also demands a lot which I think is good BUT he will leave when he doesn't get what he wants

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
I would expect 9 points from those games.
010
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
That's a fine club there

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Judging by comments on Instagram and FB we should just admit defeat and pull out of the league. Love the spirit 🤢 However, empty vessels make most noise and I firmly believe that the bulk of supporters are in for this ride even though it's a shaky one.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Hopefully not, but I understand you don't rate De Zerbi, so we'll just have to disagree. Think it would border on criminal, if our board has backed him to the hilt only to sack him right games in...

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Ok, then we disagree. The flaws I see will be rectified with more tactical awareness and hard work. Goals can always be conceded not least when you are chasing games. At Brighton De Zerbi won zero of his first 5 games and three of his first ten. They failed to score in three of the first five.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Sure, but that's not after six PL games, with a completely new team, whilst also deploying new demanding tactics.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Yep, yet some fans won't accept that.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Deserved at least a point here, but tough when you don't take advantage of some fine play in the first half, whilst also conceding some stupid goals. Confidence is brittle. I choose to remain positive. I also choose to believe my eyes and believe the climb upwards is just around the corner.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Absolutely. The first half today was the best I've seen us play for a very long time. We've also showed some heart last 15 minutes.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
I do enjoy seeing Matty Cash having his pants pulled down by Savio over and over again.
000
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Yeah, my bad. I corrected. They will of course want us to keep him, and will enjoy our misery
000
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Also. Our confidence is shot and it'll take time to rebuild. Of course it's frustrating but I don't see this as all doom and gloom. Boing today, which will happen, is not gonna help.
010
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Being relegated would have been a disaster and we wouldn't have bounced back. We're rebuilding right now and will finish top six this season. If anyone thought it would all just work after 7-8 games I'm surprised.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Opposing fans will have patience but they will of course do everything to get our 'fans' to moan and demand that RDZ is sacked. If he is sacked we're more stupid than imaginable.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Disagree 100%

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
A big problem with losing and not scoring is that the press, our own 'fans' and fans of other clubs will have no patience and demand that RDZ will be sacked. The fact that we're playing better is no consolation. Crisis? Yes.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Ah, man. Well, well. Let's go. Turn this around! Believe!

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Bentancur has been immense today
010
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
I read it that you thought the match was painful to see, which I disagree with... And I don't find it painful. Last year we played like shit but somehow picked up points early on, this year it's the opposite situation.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Pathetic. You boo this you know fuck all about football
020
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
I disagree. Not painful at all. I think we're playing really well, but of course it's a blow to concede the way we do.

FFS

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Best half I've seen us play since I can't remember. I know the moaners will complain about us not scoring, but this rot can't surely continue.

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Yeah, Benta should've been booked

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
The first League goal of the season will either be a worldie or a complete fluke :-)
000
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
FFS...Just keep going. It's impossible for us not to score in the end.
000
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Playing some proper fine football but need that goal. If so we'll get a couple.
140
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
COYS! Let's get that goal!
010
Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
Short take on where I think we are: Some way off where many expected/wanted us to be.In stark contrast to under TF there's a gradual improvement; tactical+in terms of players getting to know each other. Goals a concern but it'll come. After the international break I expect us to be a different unit

Jan @swedishspur.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
I'm weirdly positive despite this. 8 wind in a 100years at Anfield is bizarre, and we are still huffing and puffin but I firmly believe in this team and the gaffer. COYS. Night all.
