One more documented controlled experiment. Does a factory reset actually clean the slate, or does it drop you straight into a privacy trap? #deshittification #enshittification #LG #webos Read Part 4 of Deshittification-as-a-Service here: fabricati-diem.inform.social/post/deshitt...

A smart TV displaying an "LG webOS / Initial Setup" screen. Glowing data streams featuring "ACR (Automatic Content Recognition)" and "Telemetry" icons flow out of the television directly into a cloud labeled "Internet".

Part 3 of Deshittification as a Service is live! We analyze webOS 26’s active network sabotage mechanics—from cold-boot consent traps to selective socket murder when local telemetry blocks are detected. #privacy #enshittification #deshittification fabricati-diem.inform.social/post/deshitt...

A technical illustration showing network interference between a router and a smart TV. On the left, a monitor displays an OpenBSD router running a Packet Filter and Unbound DNS blocking "wiselg.com". On the right, a webOS 26 TV screen is encased in ice with a red mechanical clamp squeezing the Netflix app. Red labels on the TV read "COLD-BOOT WATCHDOG: CONSENT TRAP", "TELEMETRY BLOCK DETECTED", "TCP RST WIN=0", "GDPR ART. 7(4) VIOLATION", and "SELECTIVE SOCKET MURDER: ACR TARGET".

Block LG's tracking servers and WebOS retaliates by locking you out of the App Store. In Part 2 of my Deshittification series, I expose a blatant GDPR Article 7(4) forced consent violation. fabricati-diem.inform.social/post/deshitt... #Privacy #GDPR #WebOS #deshittification #enshittification

A conceptual illustration of a homelab network. A router running pf and Unbound connects to a glowing red 'Gatekeeper' padlock, which blocks a tangle of wires filled with eyes and 'AD' tracking icons. Clean cables run from the gatekeeper to a Smart TV, where app icons like Netflix are held hostage behind red chains and padlocks. A smartphone sits in the foreground.

Privacy toggles in Smart TV menus do almost nothing. To stop telemetry and evasive DNS fallbacks, you have to enforce honesty at the network edge. #LG #WebOS #privacy #enshittification #deshittification fabricati-diem.inform.social/post/deshitt...

A conceptual technical illustration showing an OpenBSD gateway filtering network traffic. On the left, a chaotic mess of dark cables filled with surveillance eye icons and "AD" tags enters a silver mini PC labeled "OpenBSD," showing diagrams for "pf Packet Filter" and "Unbound DNS." On the right, clean teal data streams emerge from the router to connect to a Smart TV running webOS and a docked smartphone running Netflix. Glowing light-blue airflow lines and a lung icon above the TV represent CPU performance relief and a responsive user interface.

Olin teettämässä 12 alumiinitaulua Ranskan gallerianäyttelyäni varten, mutta päädyinkin harharetkelle Frankentechin maailmaan. Hain Rajalasta pakasta vedetyn kalibraattorin, jonka sisältä digitaalinen arkeologia paljasti vuoden 2004 Spyder 2 -sensorin. photo.inform.social/fi/post/kun-...

Edestäpäin kuvattu kolmiomainen Datacolor Spyder -kalibraattori. Laitteen kuori on valkoinen, takaosassa näkyy punaista ja keskellä on pieni punainen merkkivalo. Alareunaan on painettu mustalla tekstillä ”datacolor Spyder”. Laitteesta lähtee valkoinen johto ylä- ja alasuuntaan.

Studying #Hovawart history I found this image of original Hovawart litters from 1922. The dog on the left bears very semblance to Mai, don’t you think?

A vintage black-and-white archival photograph titled "hovawart-hunde (Ausdrucksstudien)" (Hovawart dogs – expression studies). It features three of Kurt Friedrich König’s original dogs from the early 20th century. From left to right, the captions identify them as: a Schwarze hündin (black female), a Markenfarbige (blonde) hündin (blonde female), and a Schwarzmarkenfarbiger Rüde (black-and-gold male). The dogs are shown from the chest up, demonstrating the foundational physical traits of the breed.

"Fair use" for me, ToS for thee.

A satirical cartoon of a courtroom scene highlighting the irony of AI data scraping. On the left, an angry lawyer representing Anthropic stands in front of a "BIG MODEL" server rack surrounded by a pile of frames containing logos for Reddit, GitHub, Wikipedia, and Stack Overflow. He points accusingly at a smug defense lawyer on the right.
Dialogue text:
* Anthropic Lawyer: "YOUR HONOR, MY CLIENT, ANTHROPIC, IS OUTRAGED! DEEPSEEK, MINIMAX, AND MOONSHOT VIOLATED OUR ToS BY 'DISTILLING' CLAUDE 16M+ TIMES USING OUR PROPRIETARY BLEND OF SCRAPED REDDIT THREADS!"
* Defense Lawyer: "BUT YOUR HONOR, MY CLIENTS ARE ALSO BIG MODEL TRAINERS! THEY WERE JUST 'TRAINING' ON THE SAME 'PUBLIC' REDDIT DATA LAKE YOU USED! IT'S INDUSTRY STANDARD!"
In the background, a judge with a gavel looks on with a confused expression.
