Many visitors to the UK come via my home county of Kent. So the first National Trust place I'd recommend to someone visiting the UK for the first time is a wonderful 15th-century yeoman's house I've visited and photographed many times - Stoneacre.

If you head north from Rouen following the Seine in search of #Romanesque as we did recently, seek out the Abbaye St Georges de Boscherville before going onto better known Jumièges. There you will find all the structural simplicity and narrative complexity of Romanesque in one beautiful building.
