Painted in oils on a surface of strips of end of roll silk taffeta on canvas. A 1:1 scale copy of one of my Finnish Grandmother's rag rugs. Re-use, re-cycle, up-cycle. In my Grandmother's day it was just what everyone did. #oilpainting #blueskyart #finland #australianartist

Painting of a handmade rag rug. Turquoise and rose colours. Geometric pattern

Photo taken at Easter transferred onto board. New technique for me which was fun. The swell was huge and it was just me and the seagulls on the beach.

Something from a little while ago 😀 It’s about climate change and the freaky weather it causes.

Pastel drawing of Australia with a synoptic chart of a rain event. In tones of blue/green with marks suggestive of heavy rain

Functional art. I like using synoptic chart imagery in my work.

The first of my weather pattern drawings from way back in 2000. Inspired by an east coast low we sailed through overnight.

Artwork based on a synoptic chart of an east coast low off the coast of Australia.

A painting replicating one of my Finnish Grandmother’s rag rugs. Made mainly from no longer needed or outgrown clothes many are still in use today decades after her death.

The hot late August weather here in Queensland reminds me of when we were evacuated due to an encroaching bushfire on September 9th 2019. It was the beginning of the east coast “black summer”. I made art about it.
