Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 02/09/2026It’s “her job” to reach out to US influencers? I thought it was to oversee matters of provincial jurisdiction such as education and health care. Silly me. 021
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Just started using DuckDuckGo last night. Have been dissatisfied with Google and its sponsored links and annoying AI insertions for some time. Its caving over the “Lake America” edict was the last straw. So far so good with DuckDuckGo. Quitting You-Tube would be harder. 120
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 19/08/2026While they’re at it, why don’t the Conservative MP’s question why there leader still doesn’t have security clearance after all this time? 000
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Since there are no women mentioned in the replies so far, I'll add Emmylou Harris and Kate Bush. 010
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 07/08/2026Yes, indeed. No coal mining referendum yet Danielle Smith says we have to have a referendum on separation because a “substantial” (at the very most 30%) segment of the population wants one! And there is no indication that Albertans want to vote on the other 9 questions. 000
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 04/08/2026Any article that refers to the meaningless and mean-spirited cliche “Laurentian Elite” is suspect. It would be great to see AB separatist movement to be “dead as a doornail!” Tired of living in a place where some people like Nelson have a perpetual chip on their shoulder. 040
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 11/07/2026Not impressed with that app and the fact that you need to download it to use the coupon. Why can’t the Stampede use something more standard? Or just email the tickets? 100
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 06/07/2026An excellent article on George Stanley was recently published by @sprawlcalgary.bsky.social. www.sprawlcalgary.com/canadian-fla...sprawlcalgary.comHow a Calgarian created Canada’s flag | The SprawlGeorge Stanley proposed ‘a simple red and white’ design. 010
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 01/07/2026No Harmonium? No Charlebois? I don’t disagree with most of the choices but the list should be renamed Greatest Canadian Artists who recorded in English. 000
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 01/07/2026While there were many practical reasons to change Moving Day from May 1, many believe that the change to July 1 was to diminish Canada Day. 010
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 01/07/2026I realize these are your personal choices but they seem rather male-dominated and anglo-centric. But as others have pointed out, there are way too many great Canadians to limit a list to 10! Happy Canada Day! 010
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 01/07/2026Happy Canada Day! A great article from the @sprawlcalgary.bsky.social. We owe a lot to this Calgary-born gentleman who designed our beautiful and universally recognized flag. www.sprawlcalgary.com/canadian-fla...sprawlcalgary.comHow a Calgarian created Canada’s flag | The SprawlGeorge Stanley proposed ‘a simple red and white’ design. 174
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 23/06/2026So glad that sanity has prevailed, for a change. 020
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 23/06/2026“Misguided?” What an insult to all those residents who legitimately complained! We’re talking about a total of 10 hours of operation that Cowboys, will lose under the new bylaw! That will destroy tourism in Calgary? Anyway, Cowboys could open earlier to compensate for any lost business. 151
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 22/06/2026Not surprising, though. Remember the Ottawa convoy crisis of 2022. It seems Conservatives endorse rowdy & destructive behaviour at all hours. 131
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Only 70% of the Presbyterians joined according to Wikipedia. 000
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 04/06/2026Had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with this gentleman a few months before he died. What a class act! 085
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 29/05/2026What a contrast! I’m going with Oryx & Crake. Ironically, I find Atwood’s dark humour funnier than Leacock’s. 000
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 26/05/2026I think NB is perhaps the most underrated province, closely followed by MB. Had the pleasure of doing a road trip with my family around the province 30 years ago. Our experience was that the people, although considerably less affluent than Albertans, would give their shirts off their back for you! 100
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 19/05/2026Excellent article! It’s a refreshing thoughtful perspective from a born & raised Albertan. As a born & raised Anglo Quebecer who has lived in AB most of her adult life, I find myself more understanding of the QB sovereignty movement in contrast to AB separatism which is based on delusional greed. 010
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Always amazes me how Americans don’t get this song. 000
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 07/05/2026Maybe that wouldn’t be a bad thing. Then Albertans might finally come to their senses and vote the UCP out. Or am I wishful thinking… 110
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 07/05/2026Oh, this is a cruel matchup! I don’t vote unless I’ve read both books but this time I voted for both. Split Tooth is brilliant - I read it once and then listened to the audio narrated by Tanya Tagaq herself. But it’s up against perhaps my favourite book of all time… 160
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 26/04/2026Saving money on books is just the tip of the iceberg of what libraries provide - programs for people of all ages and interests, access to computers, a refuge from the elements, a safe welcoming place where you can learn snd grow. 040
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 22/04/2026If the UCP Electoral Boundaries scheme is challenged in courts, Smith will just rant and rave that the judges are too “political” and that the Premier should control their selection. 161
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 10/04/2026Round 2 was wonderful - a lovely mix of familiar and somewhat unfamiliar Lightfoot tunes. Really wish you would make an album so we could re-listen. Also you would have a readymade cover with the great portrait of Gord you had as a backdrop. 000
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 09/04/2026I distinctly remember that Danielle Smith declined to use the Bible when she was sworn in as Premier. 010
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 27/02/2026They conveniently forget that Danielle Smith once claimed that the unvaccinated were the most persecuted in human history! 000
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 26/02/2026Well, there are lots of D words that do fit - diabolical, demonic, dishonest, disgusting, divisive, and disastrous! 150
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 25/02/2026Shame on him. Can’t wait to boot him out at the next election. He has done nothing for our riding and I will never forget his affection for the Convoy’s bouncy castles 041
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 25/02/2026This includes Canadians within their own country, especially certain provincial politicians. 020
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 25/02/2026Bravo! We need more articles like this to show the rest of Canada that this is how the vast majority of Albertan think and feel. 0100
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 15/02/2026Succinct common sense, but Rob Anderson would probably call it hysterical fear-mongering. 030
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 07/02/2026@theglobeandmail.com has been running a lot of articles in the Business section questioning the wisdom of Carney speech. Seems the authors didn’t learn the life lesson to never cave to bullies. 060

Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 02/02/2026“Republic of Western Canada?” The arrogance of those Albertans who equate their province with “The West” has always been so galling. And the AB separatists think other provinces might join them? They complain about Ottawa domination but the seek domination over other Western provinces. 110
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 01/02/2026What makes someone want to gleefully destroy one of the most highly regarded countries in human history? Why does he have such an irrational hatred of Canada? Even the most diehard Quebec independentiste would never behave this way! 160
Susan Tyrrell @susantyrrell.bsky.social · 01/02/2026Couldn’t agree with you more! I grew up in Montreal but have spent most of my adult life in Alberta. Although I don’t like either brand of separatism, I can understand how some Quebecois yearn for their own country. AB separatism seems to be driven by pure greed. & AB would be worse off without CAN. 041
