today was the day that the Mayor's Clean and Green was on my block, which means a bunch of guys went around with leaf blowers blowing dirt around and there's still trash in the sidewalk weeds. the neighborhood association does more!

Have not seen Pavement pander to a city more than they did in Philly last night...Malkmus' daughter being credited for the show here because she's coming to Drexel, she came on stage to do an Eagles chant, and Malkmus inserted Strappong Fieldhands and Bardo Pond into "Range Life"

I'll never forget, on one of my first trips to New York, seeing a guy selling "ADOLF GIULIANI" (with Rudy with a mustache) shirts on the corner. have always regretted not buying one. but yes, this is the sort of thing reserved for JFK or Obama ... may he come out better
