also still thinking about sally rooney’s article for the irish times from saturday and highly recommend it. as always her writing is succinct and pertinent. t.co/RiELFNJ0rH

“THE IRISH TIMES
unequal nations. In practice, a handful of voters in US swing states have more power to determine the speed and scale of planetary overheating than billions of other people on Earth. American colonists famously rebelled against the practice of "taxation without representation". Is environmental devastation without representation any different? Even if carbon emissions were thoroughly democratically determined - which they are not - why would voters in the world's richest countries have the right to poison the air, sea, soil and rivers for the entire population of Earth? Carbon emitted in the US and Europe wreaks havoc in Pakistan, in Haiti, in Somalia, in the Philippines. But the people of these nations have no right to vote in American or European elections. As a way of arranging our collective political life, that looks less like democracy and more like another political system familiar to us here in Ireland: empire.”

found a new song for my wip and it’s wild horses and i think this is the first time i’ve found literary inspiration from the rolling stones

lyrics from the song wild horses by the rolling stones on a red background.

No sweeping exits or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses, couldn't drag me away

I feel like this was the greatest celebrity post of all time because you initially want to make fun of it because we’re all irony poisoned jerks but the sheer scale of human compassion overwhelms it and you end up going yes Vincent I also want to help a pig see the stars for the first time

Pigs can't look up. But I could pick a pig up one night and raise it into the sky and tilt this pig ever so gentle. I can make sure
this pigs eyes line up with the stars. Imagine seeing the stars 4the first time.l want 2b treated that kindly and

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Each year, the trans community loses too many lives, especially trans women of color, to hate and violence. More than ever, we must stand by our trans family and support them, hold space for them, and insist the scapegoating and targeting stop. Now.
