And of course, what's Combo Breaker with spending some money on fun stuff. CB Merch, an incredible deskmat by the homies over at @tenomedia.bsky.social , Manon and Snorlax swag from @wavechan.bsky.social . Add in a new controller as well!

Wanted to get to diamond on a second character before Combo Breaker. Did it, still trash, but slightly less bad trash now!

No official Matcherino on bsky so dropping this here personally. Incredibly proud of all the organizations I was able to help in 2024. As the main staff member responsible for Partnership there's so many amazing organizers I had the chance to work with and help.

Start of some time off for Christmas, no better time to clean the desk. New monitors setup and good to go.

Surmy @surmy.ca · 19/12/2024

2024 was pretty incredible in terms of film. Not sure where my favorite falls but these three stand above the rest for me, all being 5/5's are pretty damn close. Anora The Substance Sing Sing

Surmy @surmy.ca · 19/12/2024

Did not play a ton of games this year, especially in the first half of the year. Still got a ton of hours into Path of Exile as well as some other favorites.

Surmy @surmy.ca · 14/12/2024

Started up a little record project. Trying to pickup one record from every band my Dad and I ever saw in concert. 3 more down, a lot more to go.

000

Surmy @surmy.ca · 08/12/2024

10 months yesterday since my dad passed on. Feels like it was both yesterday and years ago. The next month is going to be real rough, both the holidays and his birthday. Miss him so much every day.

Surmy @surmy.ca · 04/12/2024

10/10 ridiculous genres. Not a lot of listening this year, thought my top 5 would be more diverse regardless.

UHF - The best parody film every created, the cult classic to end all cult classics. UHF is probably my most re-watched movie of all time, criminally underrated. Has dozens of scenes that can still make me lose it to this day.

100

Surmy @surmy.ca · 21/11/2024

Good Morning, Vietnam - Robin Williams is one of my favorite actors of all time and absolutely shines in this one. A rare movie set on the backdrop of war while not using it for military propaganda. Shows the war through the lenses of soldiers as (lost) young men, rather then heroes.

100

Surmy @surmy.ca · 21/11/2024

Whiplash - An often(in my opinion) misunderstood film about the dangerous and risks the chase of perfection cause. J.K. Simmons at his bets and Miles Teller with a master piece of a performance as well!

100

Surmy @surmy.ca · 21/11/2024

The Green Mile - One of the rare 3 hour+ films that feels like it merits it's length. Everything about it start to finish feels important to the story being delivered. It's hard for me to explain why it's so damn good, I think it comes down to the emotion shown by every character along the way.

Surmy @surmy.ca · 21/11/2024

Been watching a ton of film over the last few years figured this would be fun. For every like I'll drop one film I love and why.

The character limit does not do justice to how insane the premise was. Also...

100

Surmy @surmy.ca · 20/11/2024

I still want to know how it got greenlit.
