"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you 🙄" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence
they did the research in the first place because they believed you and wanted to tell people about it. they are not our enemies.

people always go "Instead of spending all that time on a study they could have just listened to us when we said these thing happen"

they did listen, that's how studies work, they asked people about their experiences and put all the data together in a nice package that can be cited

Mother, I have business elsewhere. Photo from my collection, no date/info.

Black and white photo of a light skinned woman standing outside in the sun. She’s cradling a short haired black tuxedo cat to her chest and looking at it Affectionately. Her clothing and hairstyle suggest Edwardian Era.

this and a blunt. nobody cares about your mental health until it: • challenges their perspective of you or themselves • is inconvenient or no longer useful • makes them look bad by association • can be milked for clout • comes with boundaries they don’t like • becomes something they can weaponize

i love thinking about the kind of world stuff like this creates, how Pokemon play their parts in it, the whole concept of a badge journey, different careers and jobs in the Pokemon world, etc.

for young trainers on their badge journeys in particular could you imagine if we lived in a reality where all hospitals provided free care and a free place to rest for a few nights

i love the world of Pokemon from even like a cultural/sociological standpoint...i'm watching Indigo League and I forgot just all the lil tidbits of world lore in it like the fact that Pokemon Centers truly are free places for medical care and rest/overnight stays, with the nurses looking out-

being cynical is fucking easy. it's comfortable and safe. there's no emotional risk there. you're never going to be let down because you didn't believe in anything to begin with. it's the easy way out. believe in things. be loving and kind even when it's not easy and the world might bite you for it.

no idea who made this but I think of that random person with gratitude every time I heat up any sort of wraplike food object in the microwave

two scenes from an X-Men animated program: in the first, scott summers and jean gray are making out; he is labeled "microwave heat" and she is labeled "plate." in the second, we are more distant from the couple, and wolverine is standing in the foreground, labeled "my burrito."

She holds the lesbian flag behind her with a winking smile. The background has a soft pink wash, pink hearts, and the words "HAPPY INTERNATIONAL LESBIAN DAY!" in pink writing.
