UF, UNF, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, and the University of Puerto Rico will host their third Latin American & Caribbean DH Symposium in-person at University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus from Nov. 5 to Nov. 7, 2025. The symposium will also offer virtual sessions on Nov. 13-14.

I am really lucky because the Spanish department just hired a professor who researches graphic novels and she is bringing her class to the library this week so I get to show them what we have in Spanish and other languages too!

I have been working on expanding our graphic novel collections in foreign languages and though French is overwhelmingly represented, for various reasons, we are now also getting graphic novels in Polish, Russian, Hungarian, Spanish, etc.

Dec. 4, 2014, 10 years ago, I became Dr. Hélène Huet. I am so proud of what I have accomplished since then. It was not easy and I almost did not finish my PhD because I was so unhappy and depressed. But I am so glad I did not give up and here I am, Associate Librarian and Associate Chair at UF!
