I was starving today, and picked up a chicken bake at Costco. Within that in-between moment after the first bite but before the first swallow, I was suddenly very aware of the dichotomy of being so hungry yet having a mouthful of food, wondering if this was what condemned Tantalus must have felt.

I’m glad you’ve got the support system to be able to do that! I think many people who yearn for that don’t, and possibly, the idea of being cared for is a big part of the appeal in the first place. I’m on the opposite end and like doing the caring, and enjoying the gains that come with it.
