Christopher Nevinson’s 'The Blue Wave,' (1917), with its echo of Hokusai’s Great Wave, was seen as a thumbing of the nose at Wyndham Lewis. That year Vorticism, founded by Lewis three years earlier as a 'whirlpool of energy,' fell apart after a dramatic row with Nevinson.

One of the best games I have ever played. Free yourselves. Develop your own tastes and proclivities. Spend a little too much money on something you're unsure about so you HAVE to engage with it and see it through. You will discover your new favorite games.

The metacritic score for 2024s Slitterhead. It has a 62 from critics and a 75 from users.

What in the fuck is SONY doing

HIDEO KOJIMA
@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN
X.com
As confirmed earlier through our official channels, in mid-June of this year, we unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the PHYSINT project. PHYSINT is an important project both to me personally and to KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. Determined to keep the project alive, we have spent the last three months searching tirelessly for a new partner.
In the course of seeking advice and pursuing negotiations with people across many fields, we found in XBOX a partner with whom we share a common vision for the future, and we have decided to team up with them once again. Please rest assured that development of PHYSINT, our genre-defining action-espionage title, is ongoing and will continue moving forward.

The lead up to and eventual release of this game has been a Cat 5 Slop Storm. The effects of which will, unfortunately, be felt for years after. A drag on the entire industry.

I'm Masuke, and I'm 17. It's really cool this morning. Maybe the change in atmospheric pressure is getting to me a little—I'm taking it easy today. It's the last day of summer vacation, so I'm going to relax!

More people should be talking about Cultic. Insane how good this game is but there's almost no discussion surrounding it. Maybe my favorite modern boom-shoot next to Sprawl.

Shameful to see this happen to id. It's incredible how Microsoft was handed a huge W in the early seventh gen console days by Sony for how bad the PS3 roll out was and they've spent the past 20 years pissing it all away at the expense of so many people's jobs and beloved intellectual properties.

I'm guessing Nintendo arranged for Omega Force to work on it with Game Freak because they worked on Dragon Quest Builders and I imagine those games sold really well and Nintendo wanted some of that juice in the game.

From what I've seen of it, it seems very similar to Animal Crossing with just a touch more mechanical meat on the bone. The senior director, Shigeru Ohmori, came up with the concept and he's been at Game Freak since 2001; mainly working as a game designer. Just found out Omega Force worked on it too

All my homies hate Rock Star. Every game they make is interminable garbage. Easiest "no thanks" in my life.

Locking folks up, driving the price of games up, 500,000 hours of tortuous gameplay for idiots, etc. What other new, horrible ways will Rockstar continue to "innovate"?

You don't own any of the physical games you already have for your PS5. Every game has day one patches and updates. Many require some kind of handshake with Sonys servers anyway. Doesn't make it right, but physical media is not the answer to games preservation. People haven't been paying attention.

For posterity's sake, I'll also post here: The film is called Colors, released in 1988. Directed by Dennis Hopper, 19 years after he directed Easy Rider and a year after acting in Blue Velvet. The writer, Michael Schiffer, went on to write the first three Call of Duty games.

"You got problems with the whole fuckin' world and I'm in it... and I don't like it." I really like this line and Robert Duvall's delivery. May he rest in peace, another legend of the screen gone but the work endures.
