post a meme made by you

an image of (i think) an ichthyostega, one of the first animals to walk on land. a caption says "my ass would have stayed human being if i knew furries was gonna be so hard to draw". black bars and a different font make it apparent the meme wasn't originally about furries.

without downloading any new pictures, describe your archetrope

the art for the magic: the gathering card "kruphix's insight". a hooded figure stands in a field at sunset. on the horizon is kruphix, a vast, many-armed figure made of darkness and stars. the composition is such that kruphix's silhouette completely engulfs the figure in the foreground.

a screenshot of a discord message which posits a thematic spectrum of sayings from "discovery and knowledge" to "violence and revenge". the sayings are: "seek and ye shall find", "ask and ye shall recieve", "fuck around and find out" and "nemo me impune lacessit"

screenshot of a tumblr post by keplercryptids. they say: "i don't "date" and i don't "chill" and i don't "hang out". i make pacts. i swear oaths. i forge unbreakable bonds. this makes me a cool breezy person to take on road trips et cetera"

an edit of hugues merle's painting "mary magdeline in the cave". it's a tight crop on mary's face, and out of the darkness reach a crocodile's forelimbs, clawing at her face.

me: gee i wish i had a mnemonic to help me remember the names of the seven modes of the major scale the humble kglw album:

the cover of "ice, death, planets, lungs, mushrooms and lava", an album by king gizzard and the lizard wizard. it features an abstract blob composed of the things mentioned in the title as well as human faces (possibly the band members?)

when the word alterhuman was coined more than 10 years ago, it was to recognize a spirit, culture and history that we've always had in common. let's not lose sight of that, yeah? or if that's news to you, step outside your immediate community and learn what it is we share! it's good for you, promise

a heavily typographic poster. the boldest text, at the top, says "alterhuman fellowship" with a pink cursive subtitle: "we're more alike than we're different!". similar text at the bottom says "befriend your neighbours" and "because we're stronger like that!". a block in the middle declares that we've always stuck together, and we'll keep sticking together, from 1990 to 2025 and beyond. it names the following (long) list of alterhuman identities: elf, otherkin, were, draconic, fae, shifter, unicorn, transspecies, vampire, therian, starseed, furry, multiple, kitsune, median, fictionkin, soulbonder, polymorph, fictive, daemian, otherhearted, rewilder, copinglink, quadrobist, voidpunk, extranth, otherhuman, archetroper, holothere, otherpaw and more

maybe this is worth posting here too? #alterhuman is a conscious coalition as much as (if not more than) an umbrella term

screenshot of a discord message which reads "in my opinion, for whatever it's worth, i do think wanting to be part of the alterhuman community is enough to qualify you for entry. because it's like, a movement, and a current, and a culture, as much as anything else, and if you continually show up to alterhuman spaces, take interest in alterhuman issues and strive to see the world from an alterhuman point of view, you're more kin to me than some wolf therian who insists that their identity isn't a big deal and doesn't really affect them and just wants to be seen as normal"

therians, otherkin, furries, nonhumans all: we are going to continue to be dragged into the political zeitgeist whether we like it or not, so we are going to repeat these four things to whoever will listen to us. okay? the narrative favours the loud.

black text on a cyan background which reads: "people really do identify as nonhuman. we've been here for over fifty years, if you count the named communities, and forever if you don't. identification with nonhumanity was born the moment that humanity was." a painting of diogenes in his barrel surrounded by dogs is faintly visible underneath.

black text on a magenta background which reads: "most of us are queer and neurodivergent, and many of us are multiply marginalized on top of that. we do not make light of ourselves. we can't excise this part of ourselves and we wouldn't get taken more seriously if we did." a painting of nick bottom from a midsummer night's dream is faintly visible underneath.

black text on a yellow background which reads: "we are not their rhetorical weapon. we are real people, and they want to hurt us. even if it's "just" to get at another demographic, they want to hurt us. you should not be okay with this. we are not an acceptable target." a faint painting of a goat on the plains is faintly visible underneath.

white text on a black background: "our fight is your fight. everything is intersectional. it has to get better for us to get better for you. it has to get better for you to get better for us."
