Dazed Casio lead lines, and mumbled vocal hooks give way to bars triple stuffed with eferences to local celebs (“The people’s champion Chlöe Swarbrick, my childhood hero Ché-Fu, best rapper in the world L V J aka Zeus Dupree, Eight Buffet at the Cordis (FKA Langham Hotel), and of course TradeMe”).

Influenced by the immersive electronic sound of the ’90s Rain’s tracks are a definitive example of devotional downtempo electronica. Atmospheric without losing its connection to the dance floor, deepState welds together hazy breaks, shimmering arpeggios, vocal edits, lounging bass & soulful melodies

Today listeners will transcend the dance floor with the release of deepState’s third album Rain 🌧️ The record is a deeply personal evolution of deepState’s sound, built for both solitary late-night listening and the collective release of dancing in the club. 🔗 deepstate-music.bandcamp.com

To celebrate the release of Misanthrope we urge you to join Alphabethead and his comrades Grecco Romank this spring for a thrilling evening of turntablism, brutalist sewer-pop and dirty, chaotic, electronic dance music! Tickets are available now from @undertheradarnz.bsky.social

I loved seeing his incredible animated video work with the King Gizzard, Osees and Kamandi! The initial seed I sent to Foothead was just ‘an inhospitable world where the electronic blips and bloops represent life finding a way’.

“I fell in love with Dr D Foothead’s drawing in 2012 when I was given one of his beautiful art zines. I’m fond of the organic and ‘stream-of-consciousness’ nature of his work and composition and colour choices just tickle my brain. My crush has only intensified over the years!'

CINDY have released their long awaited debut album ‘The Way I Do,’ out in collaboration between 1:12 Records and Sunreturn. The Way I Do presents Cindy at their finest. Ahead of next week's release of their debut album Cindy share their final single 'A Knife.' Inspired by The Cranberries & Deftones, the track seethes & smoulders. Guitar tones menacingly wobble while Gloria Florence’s vocal appears like an apparition before the song transforms into a riotous din

Tether's four stark tracks are a true reflection of Walsh & Hope Peary’s approach to Big Sigh. Limited to what we can each do in the moment with their voices and two hands, the pair trade hushed verses of delicate harmonies, lightly finger pick guitars and breathe life into a harmonium.
