I spent half the day reading and reviewing keigo (LOL) just to do anything else aside from drawing and am feeling a lot more refreshed. I'm gonna keep it in mind to engage in other hobbies when I'm feeling stuck from now on. It's like allowing your brain to play in the fields for a bit.

I'm playing Silent Hill: Townfall first. It's pretty rough for me to push through because it's playing with my worst fear of home invasion/hiding from creepy enemies in tight spaces. Actually quit out a few times when things got intense but still trying to hop back in. I wanna know what happens! 👻

I love it when artists are unapologetic about what they like. For example, I see your gallery with your tall buff women and you continue to draw tall buff women. I can see how much you like and enjoy them in your efforts. And you bring others who enjoy the same thing to your boat. That's beautiful.

I suddenly felt like I need to finish certain stories before I die. I finished Monster many years ago and found the ending underwhelming despite the excellent stuff leading up to it. I did not vibe with golden kamuy (tried rereading multiple times). Not sure what next but it'll appear eventually.

Ie. When some phrases match in quotations on google search I'd be like okay I'm on the right track, people are actually saying this. When it's not I'd be inclined to believe my sentence is unnatural.

Can stories like Drakengard be written anymore in this day and age? It's vile and cruel in every sense of the word but as experienced in fiction it's extremely comforting and cathartic. When everything is sanitized, they don't feel real. When things disturb, it's like a deep part of me was seen.

I adjust each of my colors a lot and bringing up the Edit >> tonal correction >> hue/saturation >> adjust and THEN Edit >> tonal correction >> brightness and contrast >> adjust was taking a huge toll on me. Each adjustment was laggy in real time. That's 8 taps vs. procreate's 2 taps. I got tired 💀

Yeah it's been drilled into my head especially for manga that "speech bubbles are a part of the composition/drawing too, don't neglect it" so I didn't and the shape/size/lettering indeed plays a large part in making the page look good. I guess it makes sense to keep them separate for these cases.

I was making this face the entire time trying stuff out like what do you mean the speedlines are one click, the panels are one drag (plus adjustable size/shape/ thickness while being able to slice them)--when I had to draw them all manually line by line or redraw them whenever the shape isn't it...

I gave CSP 4 hours of messing around and documented all the features that could be done in one click that would have taken me ages to do in procreate. For comics CSP is 100% the superior program. The final piece to convert me would be a brush on CSP that fits me perfectly...that I can't find yet.

I've had to chop up my pieces and work on the parts individually and combine them on procreate to work around this layer limit thing and it's pretty insane. I just noticed a LOT of things I do on there is incredibly time consuming which makes the work way slower than it should be. Thanks again!

Tbh the reason why I stuck with procreate this long is because of the responsiveness of the rotate on the ipad + the BRUSHES. But I really hate the way the layers are limited which would not be a problem on the PC. I think I could try CSP on the ipad again. But yeah there are so many materials!
