Finally saw the new version of Nosferatu. Could have been an excellent opportunity to excise the misogyny from the original. For a while it looked like they would do something interesting, but they ended on a massive fumble.

A few years back i learned that lumber mills won’t take trees from this area because there are still too many trunks with metal shards embedded within.

The CIA would go into countries like Iran and Cuba with literal suitcases bulging with cash. Absolutely no doubts they’re doing the same in Canada today.

The CIA playbook for destroying a country: 1. Buy up the media and/or bribe editors to run anti-govt propaganda 2. Pay the opposition and separatist movements in order to stoke division 3. Pay armed thugs to roam the streets. Luckily we outlawed the Proud Boys quickly. Let’s act on #1 and #2.

The trailers looked so good! I was sure the negative reviews were from sad little misogynists. But no, apart from an interesting second act, it was a big dull disappointment.

He said if he was going to walk in downtown Edmonton, he’d need a knife for protection. Not sure if Edmonton is much worse than we thought or if he’s one of those scared-of-the-city types.

Canada's white nationalists are parroting racist, anti-Indigenous talking points that right-wing politicians and media have been normalizing. Second Sons Canada, the fascist fight club, demonstrated on Tk̓emlúps lands over the weekend with a banner that read “got bones?” Here’s how we got here:

When I first moved here, I went for drinks on Quinpool with a buddy of mine. He invited a friend who lives in Lower Sackville and she was *pissed* that she had to park half a block away. No lie. Half a block. She was angry and said she almost went home. That’s the mentality here.

Maybe, but I wonder if there’s some other point, like propping up the energy industry, or making sure it’s a tech that the US controls before China, or just Altman et al trying to be the next Musk, and deaths are just collateral. There’s got to be some reason.
