330) Knives Out Rian Johnson is a fantastic director and writer, this is some of the most fun I've had with a film in weeks. Unfortunately having played Umineko prior to watching this I kept seeing similarities. I dedicate this tale to my beloved nurse, Marta 8/10

329) Milk Reminded me a lot of Moonlight and after looking into Harvey Milk after the movie finished I'm at a loss for words. I was left in tears at the ending, at Milk's final words pertaining to the closet door 9/10

I could write about what makes Wake Up Dead Man a better story about examining religion's relationship to the modern day than God's Not Dead, but all it would do is self-aggrandize and say that I watched those movies better and more correctly than anyone who likes the latter film did

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

328) Martyrs The first two acts are very good and the line between Lucie's traumatic hallucinations and real torture happening outside of her and Anna's relationship being blurred was very engaging. The third act is a bit messy and I didn't enjoy it as much 6/10

100

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

327) Crash Everything from the trauma to the sex blurs together in a harmonious blend that I found to be meaningful, if not particularly moving emotionally or relatable. Comparing it to a well-oiled machine feels a bit on the nose, but also more than appropriate 8/10

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

326) Primetime The third act ties everything together better than I expected. An ancient evil that can't be stopped by the means of a film crew and what are, in effect, actors works as a symbol, but I wasn't in love with the ending. Overall it's a nice film 8/10

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

325) Nefarious This whole movie looks like shit, it says and does nothing. No point is made about the main character's beliefs clashing with those of the demon across from him. It's a miserable piece of shit and it's apparent by the 10 minute mark. Unintentionally funny 2/10

120

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

324) 10 Cloverfield Lane For what it's worth, 10 Cloverfield Lane is a much better movie than the first. It builds tension and relieves it well, it's has a (mostly) nice pace, but it also doesn't do these things consistently well throughout and the ending is kinda bad 6/10

110

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

323) Elvira: Mistress of the Dark Pretty funny at times, but overall a very standard comedy, nothing too groundbreaking, just some sex jokes and some good moments with some bad. I'm left without much to say, which is a shame since I know people love this a lot 6/10

120

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

322) The Miseducation of Cameron Post I loved it! There's a shot near the end of Rick sitting at the table by himself while he eats as Cam, Jane, and Adam run away from the camp that oozes with subtext and I adore it. Not enough characters left for my full thoughts 8/10

A few years ago there was a 360 emulator that'd scan if you were playing a pirated version of a game and play a literally deafeningly loud sound when starting the game up, idr what it was called, but I vividly remember where I was when I saw that it was a thing

Forgot to do this yesterday because I got called in to work unexpectedly, but I had a pretty good week in terms of movies except for Gamera vs. Zigra and Gamera Super Monster

010

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

321) The Fly What an unbelievably horny movie, this is awesome! I'm a huge fan of the not-so-slow transformation and how Seth changes so much so fast until his body finally gives way to his new form in a vile display of viscera and decay, it fucking rocks 8/10

110

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

320) Female Prisoner #701: Scorpion Meh, I think it's fine. The depersonalization of Matsu from the sex that she has by obscuring her face is an interesting artistic choice that I felt could've been used better. Not as bad as other exploitation films I've seen 6/10

120

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

319) Casablanca You ever see something so good you're just left in awe after it's over and want to watch it again? That's me with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, but also with Casablanca, what an immaculate film. Rick goes through an astounding arc with Elsa, I adore it 9.5/10

110

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

318) Gamera Super Monster Damn it, fuck me dude this was horrible 2/10

110

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

317) Gamera vs. Zigra Dull, there's very little of note aside from Gamera playing his theme song using Zigra's dorsal spines as a xylophone. It might honestly be one of the weakest Showa era Gamera movies because of how little it has actually going on 3/10

316) Terminator 2: Judgement Day I liked Sarah Conner's found nuclear family and her regaining what was lost by having a relationship with her son after so long away from him, but I don't think it was as strong as the first film. The ending was surreal to actually watch 7.5/10

110

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

315) Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles The soundscape is incredible, the only other Chantal Akerman film I've seen, Saute ma ville, had a unique sound to it as well, but the uncomfortable silence here makes it very easy to understand Jeanne's psychology 10/10

314) The Terminator Excellent, conceptually I love a lot of what's going on and I think the characters are pretty neat. Of the 80s action films I've seen with Arnold Schwarzenegger in them, this is better than Predator. Pugsley the iguana could've beaten the Terminator tbh 8/10

Hunter X Hunter fans, how do you feel about Gon's talking Nen Beast sidekick Du Gon? Personally I thought he provided some much needed levity to the Chimera Ant Arc and his "You mustn't ever give in to hate! Do not lose your humanatee!" speech was a really underrated emotional beat

It's not UFOTable's fault either. How are they supposed to adapt the hell that is unwrapping Archer Emiya's arm? That's something that I feel only works because Fate is a visual novel that can combine the pace the text moves with the shifting visuals in a way that anime can't really achieve

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

I will note that Nine Lives Blade Works wasn't as hype as in the VN, Shirou listing off in his head every part of Berserker's body he'd cut to burn through all of his blessings was sorely missed. Part of my issue with the anime verions of FSN will always be the unadaptable parts of a VN like this

313) Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel III. Spring Song Largely similar to Lost Butterfly, my compliments and complaints with Spring Song are essentially the same as the prior film. There were some nice flourishes however, especially the ending bit with Irisviel. Pretty nice 7/10

Doesn't really impact things that much I guess, but it was particularly jarring to me since those woods specifically are often a place that just absolutely sucks to be in for anyone and everyone, so the ever present clouds added to that atmosphere

000

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Probably the strangest nitpick I have regarding the Unlimited Blade Works anime is how it makes the woods surrounding the Einzbern castle look. In the VN the backgrounds make it look eternally overcast, but when Gil implants Illya's heart into Shinji in UBW it looks like a My Hero Academia skyline

100

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

And yeah, I can't really recommend UBW, it's neat ig, but not having Nasu's narration makes a lot of it lose a particular bite it has in the VN

010

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Lmao I was so confused when I watched the final episode yesterday and saw Luvia because I haven't read HA yet, so she shows up and I'm completely blindsided by this new random girl who apparently beats Tohsaka at magically augmented cqc 😭

110

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

I think the movies are a better companion piece to the VN than the UBW anime, season 1 at least, season 2 gives Kuzuki something although it doesn't change much about how I felt about him. But having read the VN without spoilers, I can't imagine seeing some of the later scenes any other way

110

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Illya's story being trimmed was such a tragedy because almost every one of her scenes were removed and so she feels like a shell of who she's supposed to be. I'm honestly surprised they showed as much of the sex from the game as they did, acknowledging it at all was way more than I thought they'd do
