Forgot to do this yesterday because I got called in to work unexpectedly, but I had a pretty good week in terms of movies except for Gamera vs. Zigra and Gamera Super Monster

Hunter X Hunter fans, how do you feel about Gon's talking Nen Beast sidekick Du Gon? Personally I thought he provided some much needed levity to the Chimera Ant Arc and his "You mustn't ever give in to hate! Do not lose your humanatee!" speech was a really underrated emotional beat

Screenshot of the 2011 Hunter X Hunter anime where Du Gon is in Meruem's palace right about to give his big speech to Gon

I will note that Nine Lives Blade Works wasn't as hype as in the VN, Shirou listing off in his head every part of Berserker's body he'd cut to burn through all of his blessings was sorely missed. Part of my issue with the anime verions of FSN will always be the unadaptable parts of a VN like this

Probably the strangest nitpick I have regarding the Unlimited Blade Works anime is how it makes the woods surrounding the Einzbern castle look. In the VN the backgrounds make it look eternally overcast, but when Gil implants Illya's heart into Shinji in UBW it looks like a My Hero Academia skyline

Eiyuu Densetsu III is done, not as big of a fan of it as I am the 2 other Falcom games I've played, but it's not a bad game. I think I like the more Dragon Quest 1 and 2 styled thing Eiyuu Densetsu I and II had going on, but III has its strengths

I think Rashomon is probably the weakest of Kurosawa's films I've seen, everything else is essentially perfect, but despite being the shortest of his films it feels as though it drags the most . It's still an amazing movie, none of them are bad, but not as strong as Red Beard or Seven Samurai

I loved how Peter isn't allowed to be Peter until the very end, some genuine growth and change was so cool to see. Also this means I'm caught up on the MCU, it was mostly a bad time, but there were good movies sprinkled throughout that made the bad ones feel a bit more bearable

Sundel「スンデル」; small bombs in food sommelier @sundel.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

Also this is a nitpick, but I wanted to add that when Anthony Mackie speaks Japanese in this, it's really rough, I don't think Harrison Ford should've told him it was good, it was not good, I'm unsure if he or if Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4 is worse
