what role is there for a girl who cannot be a princess? #jadeharley #homestuck

a digital illustration of jade harley from homestuck. in the top half, jade stands to the left in her golden prospit dress, clinging to a silhouette of dave, who appears to be walking away from her, holding a broken sword. the background is a snowy land of frost and frogs, with brambles and vines climbing jade's tower. the sky is a heavily edited image of thorny vines. on the bottom half, jade is hunched over herself kneeling, wearing her black and grey god tier outfit. her hood is covering her head, her face and dog ears pointed down. the background is black with a white space aspect symbol in the middle, with faint stars and swirly galaxies in the black sections. the entire piece is bordered with green ivy leaves and red, four-petaled flowers. there is text in jade's handwriting and neon green text colour that on the top reads: "a girl who cannot become a princess," and on the bottom "is doomed to become a witch."

its such an obvious lie when you think about it for more than two seconds. like "mary sue" was the result of fandom wank between fanfic writing housewives for star trek zines. also the obvious and ever existing anti-blackness and orientalism in fandom spaces that preach to be inclusive

I could write volumes about the Orientalism inherent in expecting translated Asian texts to be somehow intrinsically different in vocabulary and metre to native English. They're not foreign and exotic to local readers, why on earth would you want them to be different for you if you want authenticity

like kaoru's whole thing was her struggle with her own mortality while being in unrequited love with the most suicidal lesbian of all time... with like. lesbianism = sucide continually being drawn. and then when rei dies we see her really break down for the first time after being so steady& reliable

nearing the end of oniisama e and i'll just say the hemni and kaoru shit would be bothering me so much less if it had 1) felt satisfyingly foreshadowed and 2) been framed as something that kaoru impulsively jumps into because of grief instead of being like ohh actually she wanted this the whole time

coffin scene fanart

A sketch of a gorgeous and unconscious Luo Binghe, face scrunched in pain, being held in Shen Qingqiu’s embrace. Shen Qingqiu, in contrast to Luo Binghe's detailed and realistic depiction, is drawn with very few messy lines and a distinct style reminiscent of an oft-memed panel from "tails gets trolled" where sonic is cradling tails' unconscious form. Text in the top left reads "sorry binghe if this looks gay to the readers"
