When we finished our podcast Stolen: Surviving St. Michael's in 2022, I knew that I wasn’t done with the story. Even though we had spent a year investigating my dad's experience at the St. Michael's Indian Residential School and uncovered a staggering level of abuse, the story felt unfinished.

Interesting & odd @substack.com phenomenon; articles into which one puts many hours, sometimes days of hard and painstaking research, then hours of searching for just the right phraseology, nuance and idiom, then writing & re-writing, often get less attention than a piece dashed off in 30 minutes 🤔
