On 1st September 1939 German and Russian troops invaded Poland starting the Second World War. Poland, having no knowledge of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, didn’t defend its eastern borders and was soon divided between the Nazi and Soviet dictators. #History #HistoryTeacher #Nazi #GCSE

The Nazi policy of ‘Autarky’ stifled Germany’s imports and subsidised farmers to reduce reliance on international trade. Hitler wanted the Third Reich to be self-sufficient.
