Doing my Data Analysis and Database classes.... Sooooo..... What started as just a full text search index with sqlite is going to become a whole fun database I'm modeling and will be extra useful for fun stuff.

It's disgusting the way people look past someone refusing to stand up for trans people or women or people of color or immigrants or victims of genocide. It is an ethical and moral line and once you stand on the wrong side you have revealed yourself to either be a coward or undeserving of power.

Saying that we all need to move on from the Nazis doing Nazi shit, and even planning to keep letting the Nazis do Nazi shit as such, is literally, itself, Nazi shit. I.e. Jeffries is a fucking Nazi.

Doing the accessibility stuff is kinda making me think about localization. But I'm using like Heath's public domain translation and shit even for the English lololololol

Yes! Accercisor is borked in whole ways, but I'm starting to be able to control buttons that I drew in SDL_GPU through accessibility actions in accercisor.

At least orca and screen readers still do work basically right with supported apps. But all the dev tools for Linux accessibility are fucked on Wayland.

Idk man, if you've got multiple people across multiple projects who've all worked quietly on major open source projects for decades all having crash outs over fascism, maybe there's a fucking fascism problem and their naming it is the part of the crash out we actually should pay attention to? Idk...

A lot in Linux space rn is someone crashing out about the thing they've spent hours of their life on being coopted by fascists then being dragged as unreasonable while some actual fucking Nazi shows up, does Nazi shit, and everyone wrings their hands over not being able to do anything about it

I am sincerely happy for you (environmental and political issues aside) but my point stands that most people — dare I say those we might call normal people — simply do not think of their lives this way. For them to train an agent they would have to first do a lot of emotional and cognitive work.

And I cannot say this part enough — AI agents aren’t fun. Maybe some of the LLM/chatbot experience captured affect. But an existential crisis about your social relations and how hard your life is so you can solve .0001% of a problem task at about 60-70% accurate, if you’re lucky, isn’t fun.

Technology enthusiasts severely overestimate the average person’s desire or willingness or capacity to build and use AI agents. I understand some work roles that could mandate or encourage it but that is no way a tech revolution. Agents are best for structured, clearly delineated tasks.
