None of my many Ukrainian friends have mentioned the polo shirt (it's a long train ride, best done in comfort). Lots have said positive things about Andy playing the guitar with Ukrainian soldiers. In contrast the out of touch UK media has criticised both.

The Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app now lets you record meetings, voice notes and conversations. Copilot automatically transcribes the recording, generates a transcript and creates a summary. It is Frontier mode only but is meant to have general availability in Aug and Sept.

Today is the start of Microsoft's Great Copilot Journey. It's designed to instil curiosity and confidence in new AI users with a series of five incredibly simple prompts to encourage people to use Copilot. It's an idea we use with clients to make AI use a regular habit with a Prompt of the Day.

The UK's productivity is f****d because of s**t Internet access. Trying to get up to speed on Microsoft's AI announcements at Build, but virtually no connectivity on train between Leeds and Edinburgh. Doesn't matter how good AI is if we can't use it (or anything that needs the cloud).

Google Slides is truly shocking. The very first thing I try to do, it can't do! Appears I can only use videos from YouTube or on Google Drive. Why can't I just upload it and it puts it in Google Drive for me? PowerPoint so much faster, easier, flexible and more powerful.

Has anyone cracked writing custom instructions for AI to make it always use British English and never Amercian English? Explicit instructions like "Use sentence case for headlines, never use capitals within the sentence", "Use S in preference to Z" don't work. The headline one never! Anyone?

One of the great things about AI today, compared to two years ago is hallucinations are rare. However, you need to be on guard as they still occur. This is a classic from Copilot which thinks my correct version of its name is wrong and tries to replace it with a hallucination!

The Windows Studio Effects on my Surface Laptop Copilot+ are good and mean I now usually use my integrated laptop camera. But I'd like the flexibility of my external camera as well and now Microsoft is adding support for external cameras. ❤️

A senior Weber Shandwick executive claims proprietary AI systems are a "core competitive differentiator." A network agency investing millions in proprietary AI would say that. In reality you can build amazing smart custom agents in Copilot etc without investing millions.

Bizarre story on Times Radio about office air conditioning being too cold. If it's too cold for some people it is easy to put on warmer clothes or extra layers. It's much harder for people who are too warm to discard clothes. If you are too cold just put some clothes on!

I've been talking a lot recently about how AI might be a renaissance of face-to-face interactions. As realistic digital twins can attend meetings or give online presentations, the value of face-to-face interaction at meetings, events and conferences will explode. Seems Mark Cuban thinks the same.
