just realizing today is the 20th birthday of this album. our local radio station (WXRV) picked up O Valencia and something about it activated my nascent middle-school proto-hipster brain perfectly. One can argue they have stronger work but this one is special to me.

my most insufferable metaphor that continues to serve is the types of programmers as arcane magic users: - wizards build up their understanding of the art from first principles - sorcerers have intuitive ability but are hindered by a more limited "spellbook" - warlocks are dependent on an evil god
