i want to know where in the ever-loving fuck one finds references for hair that is cut for a specific style but has not yet been fully styled with product. like what the fuck does a mohawk even look like without gel.

gwyllgi has no trouble spotting taash because they tend to stand out. although if gwyllgi needed to, they could ask scout, the wisp in their bird skull necklace, to find them.

fox the overlord @strayyfox.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

for lucien, losing track of *anyone* in a crowd is a normal occurrence. merrill is fairly easy for him to locate, though, since she is also mage and he is able to follow her presence through his fade-sense.

amell would duck into somewhere reasonably private and shapeshift into an eagle. when she locates leliana, she will let her know that she's above and following, usually by swooping lower than a wild eagle would somewhere within her line of sight before climbing back to a more natural altitude.

in me1, kris had a hellhound tattoo on her calf. she did not get it replaced. remy had a large ornate cross tattoo on his back prior to his death. he did have a similar one done post-resurrection, though it is smaller and on his forearm.

000

fox the overlord @strayyfox.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

prior to his resurrection, jace was covered in tattoos. he actually had to have some of the more questionable ones removed when he enlisted. during me2, he acquired tattooing supplies and started to refill his now-blank canvas with jack's help.

nicknames unrelated to their names, not necessarily. but quite a few don't use their full first name. kristin - "kris" remus - "remy" wilhelmina - "wil" zeroun - "zero" also, laine uses her middle name. her first name is "fancy" & all but the most detailed documents list her as "f. laine shepard".

ngl my actual music taste is much more eclectic but there was only a small window of time when i bought and listened to whole albums. 🤷

top text reads:
"MY9ALBUMS
The sound that made me"
below the text is a 3 x 3 grid of album covers with the album name and artist listed below. albums top to bottom, left to right are as follows:
From Under The Cork Tree - Fall Out Boy; Ever After - Marianas Trench; A Fever You Can't Sweat Out - Panic! At the Disco; Funhouse - P!nk; WANT - 3OH!3; The Fame - Lady Gaga; Paper Walls - Yellowcard; Hot Mess - Cobra Starship; Getting Away With Murder - Papa Roach.

laine cycles through some kickboxing or martial arts routines. the structure of the exercise keeps her from ruminating. wil will have a drink or 2 to take the edge off but cuts herself off after the 2nd one. jace finds something to tinker with. usually it turns into a silly prank with the device.

gwyllgi is named after the welsh black dog myth. of all the named black dog/devil dog/hellhound myths, i felt that "gwyllgi" suited their character best.

conall's name was chosen for its meaning ("wolf", which is the animal i consider represents her + she ends up with a pet wolfdog; nothing to do with the dread wolf). it is also the name of a character in one of my favorite book series.

100

fox the overlord @strayyfox.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

amell's actual name (the one that isn't "amell" lol) came from a meaning/definition search on a baby names site. i thought it was the most interesting of the options from my search. lucien is named after lucien lachance from tes:iv oblivion.

fox the overlord @strayyfox.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

there's also aerie cousland, who is one of the few characters i deliberately designed to be a stereotypical "princess" type. at least in the sense that she's girly, likes pink, tends to be naive, and begged daddy for a pony (her mabari is replaced by an orlesian warhorse named peaches).

Happy national fox day 🦊 I didn't even know that was a thing until after I finished this design, ahah! #formline #indigenousart #telekitneticart #nationalfoxday

A formline design of a red fox. The background is a gradient dark teal, and the fox is a striking rust-orange, with gradienting darker umber on its snout and tail, and pale yellow chest/ear fluff and tail tip. It has it's tail wrapped around it's body, hiding its legs. It's head is angled to the left side.

lucien has long since accepted that his lack of sight makes magic use a crapshoot. he makes sure that everyone he works with knows to be aware of the "tells" for his spells and hopes that innocents know to run when rocks start floating.
