- Veterinary consultation: 30 That's already 320 Euros just for today... and we still have no answers yet. How to raise the funds for a CT scan.... I'm scared he will die before I can find the money 😥

I really don't know what to do anymore. I don't even have the money to pay for what was done yesterday nor last month. Everything we did yesterday: - Blood count and biochemistry: 80 - Infectious disease testing: 120 - X-rays: 40 - Three injections (Vominil, Catosal, Dexamethasone): 50

We took blood samples to test for infectious diseases, and the results should be ready on Thursday. His blood count and biochemistry are normal, so there's still no explanation for his condition. The X-rays didn't show anything abnormal either..

Taking a break means losing all progress and having to start over. She is already on day 24 but her capsules from the first order are running out. I need to reorder by Wednesday 14/10 to make sure they'll arrive in time 🙏🐾 In the back is Leo btw. He and his siblings Ray and Abby are adoptable. 🧡

Lumi is a stray rescue. While I was out taking care of the homeless cars I noticed her being sick and took her to the vets. It turned out she has FIP which almost always ends lethal if not treated. The treatment is done with GS-441524 which is to be given 84 consecutive days minimum.

He refuses to eat and holds his urine for a long time, then suddenly urinates a large amount all at once. The X-rays didn't show anything abnormal either... I really don't know what to do anymore. I don't even have the money to pay for what was done today.

I had Adonis taken to my vet today again. We don't know what's wrong with him.... We took blood samples to test for infectious diseases, and the results should be ready on Thursday. His blood count and biochemistry are normal, so there's still no explanation for his condition.

But a spay/neuter, nutritious food, clean water, huts to take shelter from the weather and some vet care can already go a long way for the strays and ferals. 🐈

Stray Cats of Athens @straycatsofathens.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Around 100 neighbourhood strays (I was able to fix most of them over the years) wait for me and their dinner every night. 🐾 The life on the street is harsh and cruel. There are not enough homes for everyone.

Stray Cats of Athens @straycatsofathens.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

The tests I expect to cost about 150-200 Euros. And for scan it can be from 500 to 750. 😮‍💨

Adonis is getting worse... I'll speak with the vet tomorrow. We haven't done serum protein electrophoresis or testing for infectious diseases because of the costs. But she'll most likely recommend doing these tests. And we'll probably need to do a CT scan as well. I could also be neurological fip...

I would also like to buy a neuro supplement to help with some symptoms I believe to be side-effects of the FIP. 💗

Little Lumi is one of the unfortunate stray babies of kitten season 2026. But she is currently in FIP treatment to get better and hopefully find a loving forever home. 🏡 By Wednesday 14/10 I need to order her capsules to continue the GS-441524 treatment.

Otherwise they would have to fight about unnutricious leftovers from the bin that are often even dangerous for them to ingest. 😿

122

Stray Cats of Athens @straycatsofathens.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

I had to restock on food to make sure the strays have something to eat later. My regulars are fixed and still need some extra support to make it in the harsh world of being homeless in a big city.

Stray Cats of Athens @straycatsofathens.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

After she is cleared from FIP she can be adopted and will already be comfortable with lots of different characters of cats 💗

Lumi is in the rebellious kitten stage questioning all kinds of social rules and hierarchies 😁 She picks fight with the other cats all day but soon she will have learned how to behave within the family.

Stray Cats of Athens @straycatsofathens.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Yumi was raised by Malia and I notice a lot of similarities in the way she lectures Lumi 😁 Lumi has reached the stage where she is in a silly mood 24/7 constantly picking fights with the adults and teenagers 🔥 It will soon pass as soon as the others taught her the social rules 🐈

Treat a sweet stray cat to a dinner 💗 We need to prepare for the winter - skipping meals is not the way to go right now! 🙀🥶 Thankful for every help 💗🐈

Baby Twinklebean is blind but otherwise he behaves like a normal kitten. 💕 It seems his belly problems have cleared up. He ist currently doing really good at his foster home. 😻 Foster fees are used to cover the food, litter and what else is needed to take care of the kitty.

Adonis condition stays pretty much the same still, but it takes time to see any noticeable improvement. Yesterday, the girl looking after him take a video of how he walks. Otherwise, he mostly stays in a crate. If there’s no improvement, we’ll have to take a CT scan to understand what's wrong.

foster cats. ‼️ Feed them - fix them, otherwise food spots will become mingling spots and you'll have hundreds of homeless and sick kittens‼️

I have started taking care of strays when I moved to Greece 11 years ago. I began with adopting Boubou and only a handful of strays right in front of my door. Now I cover a meal a day for a dozen food spots in my neighborhood with water bowls and little shelters and my home is always filled with

And put your pets in your will - we see so many children dump their late parents house mates outside 💔🐾

111

Stray Cats of Athens @straycatsofathens.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

All but two kittens of her family died in the days after their abandonment.... Pet cats don't have the same knowledge and instincts as strays/feral cats. And even the feral cats have an extremely hard life. 😿 Please rehome responsibly and don't dump your little family members.

Fall is the time for the cats to prepare for winter. They need good meals to gain some weight to withstand the cold nights. ❄️ So in other words, skipping too many meals now will result in even more struggles in a few weeks 🥺 Each meal bought makes sure a kitty makes it through winter 💗

In my freetime I'm a cat rescuer and stray colony caretaker. For 10years now I'm providing the neighborhood strays here with food, water and veterinary care. This year about 100 cats come to my spots daily.

I’m trying to stabilize her and get her through this, but unfortunately the risk of losing her is very high. Her body temperature 38,2 Celsius.... high.

I am trying... bought everything that could help her... Saturday evening she had a bowel movement and was eating well, but by Sunday morning she started refusing food and became weak.
