I have started taking care of strays when I moved to Greece 11 years ago. I began with adopting Boubou and only a handful of strays right in front of my door. Now I cover a meal a day for a dozen food spots in my neighborhood with water bowls and little shelters and my home is always filled with

All but two kittens of her family died in the days after their abandonment.... Pet cats don't have the same knowledge and instincts as strays/feral cats. And even the feral cats have an extremely hard life. 😿 Please rehome responsibly and don't dump your little family members.

Fall is the time for the cats to prepare for winter. They need good meals to gain some weight to withstand the cold nights. ❄️ So in other words, skipping too many meals now will result in even more struggles in a few weeks 🥺 Each meal bought makes sure a kitty makes it through winter 💗

In my freetime I'm a cat rescuer and stray colony caretaker. For 10years now I'm providing the neighborhood strays here with food, water and veterinary care. This year about 100 cats come to my spots daily.

These two are two peas in a pod. Stray cats also form friendships and bonds. It helps when everyone is fixed because then hormones aren't causing fights and there are less territorial battles.

No more food! 🙀 If I can't restock, they don't understand and will show up regardless but I don't have anything to feed them.. The foster expenses were already quite high this first week of October, I can't really cover the stray food on top ☹️☹️

It’s such a strange feeling to hold a tiny life in your hands, knowing that it completely depends on you… It’s beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Nessy is currently my 24/7 companion because bottle babies need care around the clock. 🍼

I’m taking Adonis to a foster home. The vet prescribed treatment because she suspects it may be a bruise or other injury that we can't see. If the treatment doesn’t help, we’ll need to do a CT scan. According to his test results, he doesn’t have toxoplasmosis or diabetes. 🙏

Bugsy is feeling a little better, but unfortunately the girl who is fostering him can’t keep him for much longer. He is FIV positive which make it extra hard for him to find a foster. But immunocompromised kitties don't belong on the streets and homeless life is so hard on him.

He is very unsteady when walking, especially in the back end, and his hind legs seem to drift or give way, so we are worried there may be a neurological problem. The test results are generally okay in terms of kidney function - his creatinine and BUN are normal - but his glucose is very high

Adonis is a feral stray cat. He hat an intestinal prolapse earlier this year and in the aftermath his foster tried everything but he just wasn't happy inside and could never relax. So with mixed feelings we released him after a few months. For a few

I was sent a video of Adonis, and it looks like he may be showing some neurological symptoms... He’ was brought to my vet this evening. We did two X-rays and blood tests today. The X-rays showed that his bladder was very full because he wasn’t urinating, although he later urinated on himself.

Around 100 neighbourhood strays (I was able to fix most of them over the years) wait for me and their dinner every night. 🐾 The life on the street is harsh and cruel. There are not enough homes for everyone.

Bugsy is FIV+ which is why it's so hard to find a foster home and adopters. I'm really glad that this time I found a (paid) foster for him because he is far from thriving outside. FIV cats are immunocompromised and need some extra care. 🥺

Jill (girl) and Whisker (boy) were abandoned as kittens at one of my food spots. They know they can always rely on each other - a bonded pair I'd never break. They found a forever home together and will arrive today. 💗 For the last year had a dedicated foster mom here in Kallithea.

After they were abandoned at one of my stray colonies as kittens they got to grow up in a safe home. Last month their foster mom unexpectedly needed to leave Athens to take care of a personal matter. So for the last 4 weeks before their adoption date they needed a place to stay! 🙀

Jill & Whisker sadly never took on a job so I have to cover the bills they left behind. 😸 They needed to stay in a paid foster home for September because their initial foster had an urgent matter to tend to and needed to leave Athens for a while. 🧳

Jill (girl) and Whisker (boy) were two kittens abandoned at my stray food spots in spring 2025. Since then they stayed at a foster home here in Kallithea waiting for a forever home. Their biggest wish finally came true and they get to move into a loving forever home on Thursday 24/09. 😍

The kofi memberships give me some security because I know I can rely on them coming in monthly. When they hit 100 Euros combined I changed the monthly fundraiser amount to reflect it. Now there is a free spot and we need to fill it to make sure the stray dinners are funded 💗

The ~100 strays in my neighborhood wait for me each night to get their one safe meal per day. They are homeless in the hostile environment of a metropolis. Without TNR, food, shelter and water the suffering would be so much greater.

I had some leftover milk formular from prior bottle babies but if he makes it he will need more by next week. You can also see the carrier I had to get because I have to take him to work with me. Babies his age need to be fed around the clock and need help going potty. 🍼

6 years ago when tourists, foreign rescuers, remote workers and summer residents were fleeing the country / avoiding to travel here and everyone stayed locked inside their homes the number of strays in need multiplied to explosively. That was also the time frame when the extend of stray care and

A new baby changes everything and it's no different for animals babies! In order to raise this tiny boy I will need kitten milk powder, pee pads for the kennel and a heating pad. I also start an internship - I can bring him but I will need a small carrier (like for rabbits) and a blanket. 🍼🚨

I don't know where the blanket came from. I noticed a stray mom (I've seen her before) relocating her kittens one by one away from it. But then she never came back for her fourth one. I waited with some distance to him for 4 hrs and then gave up - she was not going to return. 🥺

She is super sweet but her neurological symptoms are getting worse. Initially I thought she just needed a quarantine period, some supplements and eye-drops because she seemed mostly healthy just very lost and with a treatable eye-infection.
