Ran into a (metaphorical) wall today that I did not see coming and it’s left me a little shaken and saddened. Recovering from this brain dysfunction is unlike any recovery path I’ve had to deal with before. (And my dalliance with Covid last month did not help.) Not enjoying it.

Oh. One week at Arthur Andersen. Teen me was contracted convert a years of scattered documentation into a unified help system and do some tech writing. I realized that I could automate 90% of that process and scripted a solution to do that. Shockingly, they realized they didn't need me, then.

One day at Best Buy. I was already working 2 part time jobs, going to college fulltime with a large number of credit hours, and hitting the goth nights and/or vampire LARPs almost every other night. When my alarm went off after 2 hours to go into Best Buy for my 2nd shift, I went back to sleep.
