Nope, unfortunately not - tested clearing the save and just holding D-pad up in Firefox 156.0 (64-bit) and in Edge 153.0.4234.32 (64-bit and yes I know :( ) - I'm stopped at the door, no clear console output indicating anything going wrong either

Naomi Wolf famously claimed she overheard a conversation about Apple demoing "vaccines that let you travel back in time", and every time it comes up people joke about Apple's Time Machine but I suspect that she *did* hear and misinterpret a conversation about a "time travelling debugger" like rr

A drawing referencing the podcast Well There's Your Problem covering the 1980 Damascus Titan missile explosion, caused by a socket wrench falling onto the missile.

The black-and-white cartoon shows a military officer looking sternly at a teary-eyed man in a hazmat suit. The pair stand in front of a missile silo, where one missile has taken off and detonated nearby, launching two cows into the air. A second missile flies past the pair, in pursuit of a hapless bystander.

The book in question calls it "repeated rounding off" and I think that's the closest thing to a term for it? I'm not sure if there's a catchier name for it
Quote from Volkov's Numerical Methods

"A repeated rounding off is not recommended, since it may lead to an increased error. For instance, rounding off the number 18.34461 first to three and then to two decimal places, we obtain 18.345 and 18.35 respectively. When rounding off at once to two decimal places, we have 18.34. The absolute error of the repeated rounding off turns out to be equal to 0.00539, while in one-time rounding off the absolute error is equal to 0.00461."

Jørgen @strangecasts.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
Actually no, that would better describe rounding errors compounding over time, whereas the problem here is that the rounding happens in multiple steps Wikipedia talks about this precise type of error but does not give it a name, just refers to a numerical methods textbook
Quote from Wikipedia's "Round-off error":

"Rounding multiple times can cause error to accumulate. [Reference to Volkov's Numerical Methods] For example, if 9.945309 is rounded to two decimal places (9.95), then rounded again to one decimal place (10.0), the total error is 0.054691. Rounding 9.945309 to one decimal place (9.9) in a single step introduces less error (0.045309)."
