If you see this, post a vampire that isn't Dracula

The year is going...pretty much how I thought it would be going @terrorvisionvids.bsky.social

Yeah the digest size was a smart move, here's a classic DC story, it's cheap, and you can throw it in a backpack. Every company is hopping aboard now as well - Marvel is picking truly random stuff, IDW is doing Locke/Key and their Godzilla stuff, and Dark Horse for some reason went with Sunstone

Ha, yeah I oscillate between wanting to hold out for really nice editions that will look good on a shelf/include bonus material and just giving in to impatience

Finally doing the same thing now with "Do a Power Bomb!," another comic I'm sure I will love but just never got around to buying in single issue format

Read this in one sitting knowing nothing about it (other than being a big fan of the creative team); I was not prepared at all for how emotional a comic called "Murder Falcon" would make me

Yeeeep, was lucky I found the Jason Aaron stuff when I did, it's pretty crazy now. And agreed on your other point - DC seems to (currently) be in the game of trying to retain readers/fans and get new people interested; I work in a shop part time and the $10 compacts sell like crazy

I have no idea what Marvel has against reprinting trades, maybe they just figure theyll make more if they eventually turn everything into an omnibus/epic collection 🤷 ghost rider was a character I wanted to get into and struggled with because everybody for him pre-2005 was OOP forever

The new run of MK (the Jed McKay stuff) has been really good. He has a team of people working with him (including two vampires + Tigra) and their headquarters is a sentient haunted house; it's the best he's been written in years imo

For what its worth, would read an entire comic that was an alt-universe take on MK as a lucha tournament

QRP with a doctor you'd trust leading the hantavirus response instead of RFK HJ.

...what a weird ass, low stakes catfish? I talked action movies/physical media with them a few times, and some of their "personal life" stories seemed...off...to be polite, but. Huh. No idea what the bubble that burst this all was, but seems like this is taking over this corner of socials today

The finest genre of movie is “Guy kicks everyone’s ass for 80 of 90 minutes”

Yeah, this guy - they make a pretty cool assortment, they have a Candyman, Pumpkinhead, and some Killer Klowns as well

There now being multiple Motel Hell figures (I think Trick or Treat Studios did a more traditional figure) is absolutely wild, and very cool

My friends and I have a weekly movie night, anytime someone new joins in we pregame by playing at MINIMUM the first two videos - "I threw diamonds at the strip clubs under the Great Pyramids" is such a solid line

Straight to Obscurity @straight2obscurity.bsky.social · 25/01/2026

Nah, it's only a two minute long video, but it has become the postshow video for a weekly movie night I have with friends so I log it just for the hell of it, ha

A pretty solid movie year, I would say. Got to revisit a lot of classics with my kids, catch up on things I've missed, and actually saw (nearly) all the 2025 releases that I had been looking forward to #letterboxd #movies #filmsky
