In my local, rural, community we are fighting against a large quarry being started on what currently are green fields. It would be great if my followers could follow this campaign account on @stopnewquarry.bsky.social and repost some of the posts. Thank you 🙏 #StopTheQuarry

Developers told Parish Council it was an 'extension' to existing quarry, Planning Statement calls it an 'extension' on every page title & in 22 places in the doc. Council website gives address of current quarry. Inaccurate & misleading! It's a NEW 214,000m2 site #StopTheQuarry

Thank you Martin Heath & BBC Northampton for raising the issue of this NEW industrial sized quarry/recycling plant/ready mixed concrete plant near Pury End & The Furlongs development in Towcester. 110 additional HGV movements on already overloaded A5. #StopTheQuarry www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Question for Google Maps @searchliaison.bsky.social, in planning statement for quarry cms.westnorthants.gov.uk/media/19928/do… attached map was used. They say map is old capture,it does not show new housing but shows new route of Cowpastures. Is map old or have they gone back in time on Google Earth?

Please help to stop the NEW quarry at Pury End. The quarry will impact the wildlife, the health and wellbeing of people living nearby, and anyone who uses the already overloaded A5. Plus, this is an area of archaeological significance. #Stopthequarry www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding...

2/2 Planning map is out of date & fails to show how close the quarry will be to The Furlongs estate. Less than 300m from The Furlongs & even less to housing & community centre still being built. 55 trucks in & 55 out each day onto an already overloaded A5 #StopTheQuarry

Google maps satellite image for proposed site of new quarry which also shows part of the large housing development adjacent to the site.

Table from quarry planning statement showing that a max of 55 HGV lorries will leave the site daily and 55 HGV lorries will arrive at the site daily.

1/2 We are a group of residents from Pury End, Paulerspury, Towcester & surrounding area who are opposed to a proposed NEW large quarry that will be far too close to existing housing. Concerns are impact on health, environment, traffic, noise etc. See Map from planning statement.
