GANGS OF NEW YORK Definitely not one of Scorsese's best. Daniel Day-Lewis was mesmerizing and I could've watched him alone for 3 hours, but the interesting themes of tribalism and xenophobia were muddled by the revenge plot line and a boring romance. Entertaining, but not enough to stick with me

STAR FOX ADVENTURES It started off good, but awful aiming, backtracking through symmetrical hallways, braindead combat, and a lack of secrets and branching paths made it a slog. The best "puzzles" involved Tricky, he was underutilized as a character and gameplay aspect. Great music and graphics tho

TOY STORY 5 Rough first half. Cringed every time they said "tech," the pacing felt rushed, and the dialogue felt on the nose and exposition-heavy. But it picks up halfway through. The emotional reveal got me choked up and the Buzzes were funny. Better than 4 but doesn't hold a candle to the OGs

THE CABIN IN THE WOODS Nothing could have prepared me for the type of movie this ended up being. Absolutely batshit second half. Was definitely scarier than expected, and not as funny as expected, but fun watch nonetheless

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON (S3) Started strong and ended strong. The plot can be so contrived at times, but overall it's carried by phenomenal acting and fun character dialogue. Not to mention, it's a feast for the eyes. GRRM can stop whining and get back to writing TWOW, this show is in good hands

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN This was a phenomenal watch, Leo and Hanks have great chemistry (as do Spielberg and John Williams, obviously). I especially enjoyed the meta aspect of Frank's crimes being extremely implausible—like, of course a con artist's autobiography is gonna be filled with embellishments

I wouldn't be shocked if the next one is Funky + Candy, and then they end it, since that would make 12 events/1 full year. Only thing that's giving me hope for more is the fact that there's potentially room for another animal buddy by the treehouse

THE DINK Not a ton of pickleball in my pickleball movie, but it was cute. Starts off a little rough and the age-gap romance took me off guard, but there's a lot of laugh out loud moments and Jake Johnson is charming af

AVATAR AANG: THE LAST AIRBENDER Saw it in theaters and was blown away by how gorgeous it was. Seriously the most visually impressive animated movie I think I've ever seen. Revisiting these beloved characters was also just such a joy. Story wasn't anything special but I'm so, so glad this exists.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL Not surprised I had a good time with this one. Creative fight scenes and grandiose set pieces galore. Modern classic of an adventure film that I will probably come back to

FULL METAL JACKET Maybe the best first act of any movie ever. Depressing and sobering depiction of propaganda and meaningless conflict. RIP R. Lee Ermey, your improvised insults are still unmatched in cinema

JAWS Certified classic for good reason. Iconic score, thrilling suspense, and great visual effects for the time. Some awkward editing here and there and an abrupt resolution, but it's timeless

YOUR FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS (S1-2) Honestly found this very overrated. There's some fun stuff going on, but the dialogue can be so unrealistic and corny, the story gets nonsensical, and 90% of the characters are unlikable. I'll watch S3, but I don't love it. OG Anunoby's cameo was the best part

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER (2024) (S2) Didn't hate S1 like others did, but at best it was mid and at worst it was a mess. They cooked with S2 though. Acting, humor, and pacing are leagues better. They interwove elements in a more mindful and tasteful manner. Far from perfect but a huge step forward

DELTARUNE CHAPTER 5 Easily the best chapter yet. As usual, the soundtrack bangs, the antagonist is hilarious yet compelling, and the secret boss is crazy difficult. But the gameplay twist this time around was such a delightful surprise. Always struggled to pick a favorite chapter, but this was peak

WIDOW'S BAY (S1) I'm pretty bummed that this wasn't a limited series and we were deprived of a solid conclusion. But I shouldn't complain, this is probably my favorite show of 2026. It's so funny, so suspenseful, and the characters are so lovable. I just hope S2 has enough originality to justify it
