We can never forget the normalization and sane-washing that outlets like New York Times have provided for this man over the years.

Last month the NYT said AOC "struggled" to give an answer on Taiwan and quoted her with "uhs" and "ums" to make her look stupid Yesterday talking about Hormuz Trump claimed he's heard from "numerous countries" and said "uh" four times. The NYT deleted the "uhs" and paraphrased him to look smarter:
NYT on Feb. 13, 2026:

The visit also demonstrated the relative foreign policy inexperience of Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, who has made a few overseas trips since taking office but does not sit on any House committees devoted primarily to world affairs. She struggled at times to formulate succinct answers at a nighttime panel session, during which she was asked probing and specific questions about how to respond to international crises.

Questioned about whether the United States should send troops to defend Taiwan if China invaded the island, she stalled for roughly 20 seconds before offering a substantive response.

“I think that, uh, this is such a, a — you know, I think that — this is a, um — this is of course, a, uh, a very longstanding, um, policy of the United States,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said, before saying that the country should try to avoid reaching that point with China in the first place.NYT on March 16, 2026:

On Monday, Mr. Trump claimed that “numerous countries have told me they’re on the way,” noting that President Emmanuel Macron of France would most likely help in the Strait of Hormuz and was an eight out of 10. “Not perfect, but it’s France,” he said.

Others are not demonstrating sufficient enthusiasm for his demands, he said.

They’re telling me a great empire will be destroyed if I attack Persia. Even the oracles who don’t like me very much, very nasty, they all said to me, “Sir, it’s one of the great empires, and it’ll be destroyed. And all because you attacked Persia.” That’s what they’re telling me.

So enjoyed reading the eARC of In a Second by Kate Canterbary! Her books never disappoint. Here’s my review on Goodreads: www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Currently reading:
Graphic of an ereader with the title page of “In a Second” by Kate Canterbary. Background is a sunset sky with mountains in the foreground. A list of tropes are next to the ereader: good girl x bad boy, fake engagement, second chance, single dad, first loves, teacher x engineer, road trip, just one bed. Cursive text at the bottom: Coming Dec. 9

It’s #BlackWomensEqualPayDay – a reminder that Black women are systematically underpaid for the same work as their counterparts. Black women deserve better, and today we recommit to fighting for economic security and equal pay.

One of the things my post about not needing to know if the Dade-Collier concentration camp is a death camp versus a concentration camp because it’s evil and must be stopped has made me realize is is that a lot of people do not seem to know about the death camps.

Exasperatingly frequently necessary reminder that the weaponization of ableism and fatphobia and homophobia and transphobia against your political enemies still works to NORMALIZE those things, thus SYSTEMICALLY HARMING your supposed allies.

I stopped Tweeting years ago, and I tried replicating the community I had built there on Threads, and now to try again here. Hopefully the third time’s the charm!
