Remembering the news being on the TV all the time as a child, I've been invested in politics my whole life now, went to uni for a degree in politics, spent years reading theory, and it's still hard to talk about theory with others cause of intentional conditioning done by the systems in power.

The metaphor being that once Clark gave into this artificial life he was making, it was like the beacons were lit and the Capt BEELINED straight to Clark, as if it was waiting for him to cross that point of no return. Clark was even confused and asked "What are you doing here?" when it showed up.

The way Clark describes the backrooms to Mary reminds me how "AI" was first starting out. He says: "Imagine if you are describing a dog to someone who has never seen a dog before, they could get some things right, but not all of it." Now take that same logic and apply it to "AI".
