I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.
Nichole Hiltz
The Democrats defend the Kennedy Center but not trans people.

@treewarrior.bsky....
maybe because defending everything about a super small minority of the population is not worth losing to fascists

I hate to defend Beck, here, but this is so true. Optimus Prime always reminded me of Eleanor Roosevelt, who was in many ways the Paddington Bear of her generation. And of course Paddington’s spiritual successor was Dale Earnhardt, so whatever your politics, this resonates.

Surprising fact: We are actually NOT seeing more food recalls this year compared with recent years. What we’re seeing is an increase in the number of illnesses caused by contaminated food. This is the largest ever cyclospora outbreak & third-largest foodborne illness outbreak of any kind on record.
Number of food recalls by year
There have been 162 food recalls posted this year by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Agriculture.

Chart shows yearly food recall numbers from 2017 to 2026.

Not sure how exactly how I’m going to shift this year now that Google search is complete trash. Thinking about an activity where they do a DDG search and Google search using the same keywords and then exploring the results and discussing which has more helpful/reliable/accurate results. Maybe??

I'm asking you to think about how and why other people, possibly more marginalized people, may not feel safe to do so and why demanding they do or else you'll decry them as a "troll" is not conducive to making sure all voices are heard and people protected.

And you should be thankful to feel safe enough to do so. But to demand that of all marginalized people without considering how intersectionality or circumstance may affect safety sounds like a great way to ignore the voices of those in the most danger.
