Last week, I powered on a 26yo copy of Pokémon Pinball, one of the best Game Boy games. My save was gone. The cart’s save battery, with only 1/100th the capacity of my smartphone, was never meant to last this long. No sweat: I'd already *saved* my save with an Epilogue GB Operator. Gift link:

Always makes me shudder when PR folks talk about critics "supporting" studios' projects. Our work functions as a kind of advertisement inasmuch it draws attention to stuff, yes. But we're not cheerleaders or stans, and that kind of language is meant to make you lose sight of the real job (criticism)
