Hard to imagine a more flagrant violation of NYC's right of self-governance than the ham-handed constructive discharge of acting SDNY US Atty for Sassoon by Trump lick-spittle Bove, for refusing to handmaiden the abjectly unethical 45-Mayor Adams quid pro quo. Thankfully Judge Ho is in charge!

Just imagine the chances of a re-election candidacy by a Mayor Adams who had the federal prosecutions against him magically fixed by you-know-who

Reeling with irony at my own naive speculation in '21 that a mayor Adams might have the cred and will to reform NYPD. But by installing corrupt and venal brass to run NYPD as his personal praetorian guard, Adams's NYPD is now decapitated, and vulnerable to reform. www.nytimes.com/2024/12/21/n...

Nice bit of NYTimes arhictectural history so well reported that I don't really mind the car-blindness. A reminder that motoring touches every facet of American culture. The Fight to Save Googie, the Style of Postwar Optimism www.nytimes.com/2024/12/21/r...

The sad but all too predictable scene 5 blocks from the @familiesforsafestreets.org meetup. Hope this person will be OK.

My former client Amy Cohen who helped found @familiesforsafestreets.org back in 2014, speaking in the memory of her deceased son Sammy. Amy, her husband Gary, and so many other families joined together to form a movement all NYers should be grateful for, to save lives from traffic violence.
