Steve Tobias @stevetobias.bsky.social · 10/12/2024Stretch-twist-fold is an important concept in chaos theory - and in MHD dynamos. A dynamo can only be a "fast" dynamo if there is Lagrangian chaos in the flow, so that stretching can overcome diffusion in the singular limit of small diffusion. 111
