Loads of responses received to this, which is terrific, but so many just not following the submission instructions, and so immediately removing themselves from consideration. Top tip: always follow any submission guidelines EXACTLY.

Lee Anderson proclaiming today that today's Claction result is historic. He's absolutely right, as never before has a bin come second in any UK by-election.

Some great artwork coming in for this, but remember - follow the specific instructions on how to send. Attachments? Perfect! A link to a portfolio? If I don't see any sequential pages immediately on clicking it's an instant 'no thanks'.

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Just to be clear - no DMs, no separate discussions, as a starting point it's submissions only via the specified channel.

No discussion at all until submitted samples received via the channel specified 🙂

Let's just say artists who can only do every 3rd page of the story (or other permutations) need not apply 😁

Need a comic artist for comic set in Birmingham, ideally Brum-based or Brum-familiar. Not looking for any cartoon or experimental styles. Sequential samples to submissions@timebombcomics.com please, quoting BRUM in the subject line. Please share 🙂

The aim is that the Comic Scene imprint will represent how varied and diverse comics in the UK can be, so will be actively looking for original comics that can be published under Comic Scene 😁

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 11/06/2025

Comic Scene have become a great champion for British comics, so I'm excited that their publishing side will now be my new imprint with Time Bomb! I'll be developing this range with Tony Foster which will publish not only my work, but comics and magazines created by a whole host of others 🙂

Pleased that the Quantum #1-#4 KS has almost hit £1K, especially as many of my regular UK backers will likely already have the comics. That said, some have jumped on to support, which really is a splendid thing for them to do 🙂Quantum Newbies also very welcome, of course!

The problem with 2 books arriving fresh from the printer at the same time is choosing which one to crack open and smell first...

020

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 16/02/2025

I did enjoy this, but I enjoyed the scenes outside the gorge much more. Below the mist it felt like watching a 2-player shoot-em-up. They're always much more entertaining for the players than the observers. #thegorge #movies #AppleTV

Any idea why the promo text says Worlds instead of the World it's being listed as? (I think Worlds is the better title, tbh.)

100

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 24/12/2024

Interesting to see what they decide to recolour/re-edit next. Thinking Tomb of the Cybermen, myself.

000

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 24/12/2024

As for the new regeneration, the Pertwee profile jarred for me - too obviously CGI - but the 'confused' dating a lovely nod to the lore.

110

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 24/12/2024

The new edit worked, too for the most part, although maybe another 10 or 15 minutes could have helped, just to give some further plot clarity through the middle third.

100

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 24/12/2024

I thought this was very well done, in particular the colourisation, a real step up from last year's The Daleks rework.

Understanding how to navigate a comic page from an early age feels like a subconsciously learned skill.

010

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 10/12/2024

This is true. Being able to read a comic without being totally confused about what frame or balloon to look at first is a thing. But only with adults who didn't read comics as children, in my experience.

230

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 10/12/2024

The "graphic novel" comes from trying to market comics to an audience that perceived comics as only for children. It's now morphed into this horrible catch all for anything published in the comics medium that's not in pamphlet form.

030

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

This is the first time I've worked with Luca, and I think his colours are brilliant over Roland's line art! And currently he's colouring up the Rakhana pages for Quantum #11.

010

Steve Tanner @stevetanneruk.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

No logo, no letters, just the artwork by Roland Bird & Luca Mattoni of the double page spread from the latest Major Rakhana episode in Quantum #10.
