#FotoVorschlag | mushroom Some aging Petticoat Mottlegills on a pile of bison dung. (One of many delightful #mushroom names; plus what's not to like about a pile of bison dung?)
Several small, brown-ish white mushrooms with thin stalks and fringed, bell-shaped caps grow from a pile of dung. The dung is fibrous and has many crevasses on it's surface.

in the space left by cranes -- a cottonwood leaf accepts the earth #LandscapePhotography #haiku #fall
A fall scene composed of mostly bare trees of a wide valley and a floodplain forest. In the foreground an old field. At the edge of that field is a red oak tree, leaves mostly a later stage orange red. This is a part of the dog walk where, in the spring, I could hear the sandhill cranes calling from the valley. It's been quiet for a while now, waiting for the next hopeful turn of the Earth.

A row of empty deck chairs sit on a large covered wooden deck overlooking a wide, eroded valley. Rain has wet the edge of the deck but left the chairs dry. The photo was taken at the Theodore Roosevelt Library in Medora, ND. It was very quiet when I took this photo, only the sound of a little rain on the boards of the deck and an occasional raven and meadowlark.

#FotoVorschlag | flowing water #erosion #Badlands
The photo shows a wall of eroded clay in the Badlands of North Dakota, USA. The clay is a light gray and shows numerous he wrote it crevices in pockets. Several rock layers, run horizontally through the clay and provide resistant layers that collect rain water, which funnel over their edges. The landscape is formed by flowing water and the clay itself looks like frozen water.
