Next up: a huge, super secret project! A standalone novel that I am absolutely buzzing for! This one is in first draft stage too, but if you enjoyed The Kings of the Wyld and/or The Gentlemen Bastards sequence, this one will be for you 👀

And to accompany this re-release, I’m also set to publish my first ever novella, too. It will be adjacent to The Hunter’s Lament and will be the first of my stories made available on KU. The story is written and is currently being edited, ready for 2027.

A throwback next, as I plan to re-release my 2023 debut next year, too. The Hunter’s Lament has had some minor copy edits, is getting a brand new cover and—for the first time—will be available in hardback format! ℹ️ stevepannett.com/books/the-hu...

It’s very nearly June in 2026 and I’m *still* seeing folks claim that em dashes are a surefire sign of AI being used in writing. Shit, stunted, contrived writing is usually a pretty good giveaway, people — not punctuation that’s been used for literal centuries. Don’t make me tap the sign.
