For me it's the way the press pool just quietly went along with it because he's the president The entire point of this country is that we don't have to let some guy do whatever he wants just because of his title. We don't have to respect him or go along with him just because he holds an office

Trump pardons Ross Ulbricht, creator of the Silk Road dark web marketplace
Ulbricht operated the anonymous digital marketplace known as Silk Road when law enforcement arrested him. The pardon fulfills a campaign pledge Trump made to Ulbricht's Libertarian supporters.

This should go without saying, but Trump is not opposed to political violence. He’s opposed to violence against his political allies. He is either silent about, or approving of, violence against his political enemies.

One doesn’t actually need to hear an AI con man say “yeah it’s a bubble.” I get that it’s alluring to cozy up to power & feel like you had a gotcha moment when they told on themselves but it isn’t useful journalism. It’s stenography. Everyone else with critical thinking skills got there long ago.

AI trains you to believe that everything should be easy, but it can never actually deliver that. It can make the easy parts easy, and then drop you straight into the hard parts - like skipping the first disc of the game and getting dropped into Act 2 with no gear or XP.

If all you need from education is a credential, who cares about the assignments? Five years ago you'd copy paste someone else's essay and change a few words into synonyms. Today you're getting LLMs to do essentially the same thing. But it's not a writing use case. It's a plagiarism use case.

There is something to be said for the ritual of commuting and the social pressure of existing in public - I just found the co-working space wasn't better in any way than my desk at home, especially if I had to foot the bill myself.

My employer not reimbursing any of the cost was the big thing for me. I did go to a WeWork once and all I had was a desk - at home I have my own monitors and peripherals, better cheaper coffee, and all my desk doodads. I probably would have been better off at the library that day.
