Based off his presentation that there are 16,000 tapes... yes.

I also bought this mainly so that I could scan it but also listen to @mcconnell.bsky.social or @kasavin.bsky.social read it out loud without their brains trying to autocorrect the Engrish.

My general approach to buying things at conventions nowadays boils down to "show me something interesting that I didn't know existed." This XBOX artifact from a very short-lived era fit the bill.
A largely black XBOX controller with a slight dot pattern, green sticks, and a metal green d-pad. Across the from the controller reads in translucent green THIS IS AN XBOX and you can see the frame of the controllers innards underneath.

Not pictured are a bunch of us digging through bins of games where if you search on eBay you'll find only a handful of listings over the past few years total. Some sicko collectors deep down the rabbit hole are going to freak out.

A screenshot from the beginning of the documentary Chasing Ghosts. It shows a sleepy country road with plains and a cluster of trees in the distance. There are dark storm clouds above. Text overlay in white lettering reads "Ottumwa, Iowa Video Game Capital of the World"

They should add a cam from the perspective of an audience member in the stands. Occasionally someone waving a pennant or an alien getting up to go to the bathroom obscures your view.

Sam Francisco's 49 mile scenic drive sign that features a white seagull at the top left looking right and 49 mile in white text on a blue background to his right. The seagull's body curves around to fill the bottom half of the sigh and within are the words SCENIC DRIVE in presumably the same color as his beak but I cant be absolutely certain bc I'm color blind.

Surrounded by portable game devices and not sure what to bring to Portland. Steam Deck, Switch 2, Analogue Pocket, RG Rotate, any one of my modded systems? Paralysis.

It’s launch day for STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™. Three and a half years ago, Fuse Games was a handful of people with a big idea. Since then, our small team has poured their hard work and talent into our first game, and that big idea comes to life today. Here's a personal message from the team.

Growing up I would buy any Garfield, Bloom County, Calvin and Hobbes, or Far Side book I could find. I haven't bought a book of comic strips in decades but feeling a wave of nostalgia and delight as I flip through the immensely talented @beetlemoses.bsky.social's new release
A pink book on a table. The title "Beetle Moses" is in a whimsical blocky 60s/70s font and underneath it says "A comics menagerie". Most of the left side and center is an illustration of a stub nosed Isuzu-like delivery truck barrelling towards the edge of a cliff. There are monkeys all over the truck hanging on, flying off, fighting, and a cool one with sunglasses driving while eating a banana. The author's name, Harris Fishman, is at the lower left.

Installed a larger NFC antenna into the SuperStation One and it's made a huge improvement in Zaparoo card reads. Recommended fix for those that experiment with the RFID stuff.

RoboCop in front of a server rack with an intense look on his face as he stares down a nerdy data technician. The fingers on this right hand have folded over and a very long spike is coming out of his middle finger slot and about to interface with the compatible (?) interface on the server.

I'm going to guess 50 pounds
A vintage McDonalds translite with a yellow background and in the middle a giant hash brown suspended by chains and the s al reading 50. There are 4 cartoonish figures around the hash brown including office workers and a guy with a hard hat. The text reads "Guess the weight of the 50lb. hash browns and win breakfast hash browns with purchase of abt breakfast item in a vaguely Arby's font with rounded serifs. There are also two thought bubbles above the people that say "ask for your winners ticket' and "win delicious hash browns".

Bought these and a couple of other novelty flavors. @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social snack taste test coming soon.
A bag of durian flavored Lays potato chips. There's a giant cut open durian on the front with the lays logo right on top of the creamy middle that signals "yes, durian potato chips... buckle up!" Big blocky Chinese font that again signals the strength of durian. I love that snack companies experiment and encourage crazy things but this chip might be classified as a war crime. I guess we'll see?

More than what Frank said, I think a big reason VGHF has been able to build trust is that we've approached our collections in a way that is human and thoughtful, instead of just acting like wolves tearing at meat. If all you care about is Stuff, then you'll end up treating people's lives like Stuff

I listened to the podcast on my drive down to the toy show and then spotted this Great Pumpkin carving kit at one of the tables.
A carded "Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin Carving Kit" sitting on a table that has a Snoopy and Woodstock draping. The cardboard is orange at the top with a picture of a smiling Charlie Brown, Linus, and Snoopy in a pumpkin patch. Underneath on black are four orange carving tools in a blister pack. The text highlights that it includes 4 patterns, 4 tools, and instructions. Underneath that are pictures of carved pumpkins labeled "These patterns inside!" and the carvings are of Charlie Brown, Linus behind a pumpkin, Lucy in a heart shaped background, and Snoopy in flight gear with goggles and a scarf.

Spotted at the flea market. Pretty sure I fought these bosses in Expedition 33.
Five mannequins from the pelvis up. They are primarily white with wooden arms like the posable artists reference doll. They also have a black sash across their waists. They are sitting on top of little step stools on a table covered in black cloth and in front of them are trays full of different hair clips, combs, and costume jewelry. The mannequins themselves are adorn with all kinds of costume jewelry from bangles on their wrists to various objects attached to the black waist section, necklaces, and along their chests. It's stylized as though they are wearing some kind of clothing and the jewelry is the outline. The truly horrifying piece are the faces that again use pieces of dangling flair to approximate some kind of expressions of a monstrous demon that has possessed a mannequin in a costume jewelry store. Each is also wearing a crown fashioned out of a cluster of fake butterflies. A sign in front of the table advertises combs + claws only $20 or 2 for $35. They accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
