✅ Career milestones: • Caroline took up an academic role at University of Adelaide, working closely with One Basin CRC in Griffith. • Steve completed his ARC Future Fellowship, moved into a continuing role at the Fenner School and was promoted to Associate Professor (Level D).

Completely unacceptable delays to grant announcements. Such delays undermine industry collaborations, abort promising academic careers (especially of junior researchers) and waste a massive amount of $.

I only have two data points from my own experience: - Sweden does (e.g. VR and Formas), though the budgets are sufficiently small that you would usually only apply for part of your own salary
